For those who booked vendors VERY early...

For those who booked vendors VERY early...

Have you contacted them since you signed the contracts and paid the deposits?

Example... I booked the photographer, videographer, etc... MONTHS ago. Should I be making contact just to say 'HI' and check in with them?

we booked our photographer in mid 2004..we have not heard from them at all, nor do we expect to, unless we need to call them to cancel, which we aren't about to do.

so if you want you can call to check in, but if you haven't heard from them, i wouldn't worry about it

We booked a majority of our vendors very early one (almost one year ago.) We kept in touch w/our DJ (b/c he's on LIW,) we kept in touch w/our photographer b/c we took EPics, but haven't spoken to her since October, and same for the Florist. We just touched base with all our vendors this week as the time gets closer.

yeah i wouldn't worry about it either... we booked so early some of the vendor's calendars did not even go that far in advance!! lol... so it was no big deal... we are just playing the waiting game.
i wish they would forget about us having to make a few payments--but i highly doubt they will!! when they want their money they will be calling you everyday haha!

I wouldn't worry, I contacted my florist...we booked almost everything in the end of 04 and she was like...I didn't forget about you, it is just still a little to far away...I would say 3-4 months before start contacting them if they don't start contacting you

I booked my hall & photographer/videographer in 2004 because I wanted to make sure that they were a lock for the day that we decided. Last year, I had to call them because we postponed our June wedding to November due to FH being deployed to Iraq.

We keep in touch with our DJ cause were always adding things and thinking of different things. as for everyone else we arent keeping in contact with them. but now its getting closer so they are all calling.

Ok good.

I was starting to think about it, how weird it was to book them and then forget about it. Kinda made me nervous. Especially with that post about the 'lurker' person who was calling people's vendors and cancelling. I just thought I should be making myself 'known' again.

I've had a couple of conversation with my DJ, and photographer, and one with my florist, and multiple converstations with my DOC, but that's it. However, after the warning thread that was posted, I plan on touching base with them this week.

I booked most of my vendors before or a little after the year mark. The only vendor I contacted with was my hair person and florist just to discuss new ideas.

We booked our vendors a year ago. We've only kept in contact with them occassioanlly becuase we have been paying them off little by little to ease the blow a month before the wedding.

Hello we are getting married this july. We gave our deposits for the DJ and Photographer. We only booked them recently. The DJ told us he doesn't need to see us until about 3wks before. And the Photog..said within a month from now he wants to meet, if possible.

I was thinking the same thing after this!!! I might just call a couple, the ones we haven't talked to at all since we signed the contract, and make sure everything is still good to go. Especially the hall!

I feel the same way - but I think it's just the way it is - I mean - why would they get in touch with me - just to say - hi - just reminding you that we are still your DJ!

but I do feel like if we aren;t in touch, somehow they will forget about me!!!
