Re: For those who changed careers how did

Good question because I feel the exact same way. What do you do now?

Re: For those who changed careers how did

This probably sounds silly, but I would make a list of things I truly enjoy doing and a list of skills that I have.

See if there is a way to match them up so that you can make a living doing it.

Re: For those who changed careers how did

I started working as a paralegal/legal assistant, the money was good (esp. with overtime) but the hours s$cked and there were some pretty miserable attorneys that I had to work with...
So I changed gears and became an executive/personal assistant - I made more $$$, hours were 9-5, only worked for one person, bonuses, etc

The transition worked for me because I really didn't have to learn anything new or go back to school.

Good luck in whatever you choose to do!

Human Resources. I hear there is a test we can take to see what careers our personalities match. I don't know what it is though.

Re: For those who changed careers how did

I'm in the same boat you are in. I am a legal secretary and I abhor it.

I would love to go back to school but that's just not possible right now.
