For those who have been married already...where did you have your gown preserved?
I am very nervous about this. I got my gown way early and am going to pick it up this week...it's in because it was off-the-rack, not ordered. I figured I would get the gown preserved instead of buying a cedar chest and having to figure out how to wrap it right. I figure for the cost it's worth it to have it done professionally. However, I am scared to put my gown in anyones hands. So, any help would be appreciated. Thanks girls!

I was told you don't need to have it preserved... just have it cleaned if it's dirty and pack it with tissue paper in a box to preserve the shape.

I had mine preserved, I spent way too much money to take a chance.
I brought mine to my very trusted cleaners that we have used FOREVER! Cost me about $250 and they put it a box then another box with a flap and a window so i can look at it whenever i want.

I have a question about that...isn't light bad for the dress? I don't trust myself to pack it away, I would rather have a professional do it.

The dress doesn't see light, it is in a box. I have to take it out that box, then open the flap from the box the dress is actually in. Even still there is a think layer of plastic between my dress and the flap. You can see the dress through non acidic tissue paper. I have only looked at it once :) I am sure that dress will never see the light of day again :)
