for those who have been to Aruba

For those of you who have been to Aruba already, where did you stay. I want to go there for our HM but I don't know where to stay. We do not want all inclusive. TIA.

Re: for those who have been to Aruba

We just got back from Aruba. We stayed at the Radisson. It was very nice and there were significantly fewer kids there than at the hyatt or marriot i think because they have kids clubs and the hyatt has slides. The grounds are very pretty (but so are the Hyatts and the Marriots)

The raddisson is located in a great spot. Right in front of the hotel are the some great resturants (Gianni's - great itlaian food, and lots of places for lunch - hooters, bennihanas, salt and pepper, pizza places) The Marriot is pretty far away from that area because its on the complete opposite end. THe casino is the Radisson was also quieter and easier to find a spot at a table. The marriot seemed to be for more of the AC type people. But you can use the casinos in any of the hotels

FMIL is travel agent - she put us in the Radisson. But to be honest.. she says that lots of people Love the HYATT - i think if you choose the Hyatt, Radisson or Marriot you will be fine.. they are all pretty much the same and just as nice as the next.

Your right to stay away from all inclusives.. because there are so many great places to eat in Aruba!

Hyatt, Radisson, Marriott.
You can't go wrong with these.

El Gaucho for Argentinian steak and to die for sangria while you wait for your table at the cigar bar across the street.
Fishbone Restaurant for a romantic dinner on the beach.
There was also a restaurant on a pier in front of Playa Linda that was nice. Can't remember the name of it. Try to eat there at sunset. Absolutely stunning.

Do the kukukunuko (sp) tour. It was a blast. A party bus takes you around the island for dinner and drinking at 3 different places.

RedSail sports for water adventures. Snorkeling tours, sunset cruises.

Enjoy !

We went to Aruba. We stayed at the Renaissance. It was really nice. It was right next to the marina and close to all the nightlife and restaurants. They have their own Island also, which you can get to by the free boat shuttle the hotel provides. My husband and I have been on a slew of vacations and I always tell him that Aruba was my absolute favorite place we've gone!!!

I just stayed there and we stayed at the Westin. Friends of ours stayed at the Radisson for their HM and loved it. Walking down the beach, every resort looks so great. If you need more info, FM me.

Hi, we stayed at the renaissance. It was amazing, however it is worth the money to go to the suites than the adult hotel. More privecy.

One thing that I wish we would have done was get an all inclusive. Our dinners every night were $100 atleast! When we would try to go cheap( like go to taco bell) it was still $40. This not to mention all the other meals and drinks. Honestly I wish I would have done the all inclusive! There were sooo many shops there that you could eat at. Oh also, if you end up booking with them, they do give you the option to do an all inclusive when you check in. Atleast they did for me.

I stayed there in March which was beautiful!

hope this helps!

We just went there for our HM and we stayed at the Divi Aruba. It was only all-inclusive, but it was a great honeymoon location. I know you said you didn't want AI, but it was definitely worth it. We did however eat off the resort twice. First we went to eat at Pago Pago in the Westin - which was a bit on the pricey side but SOOOOOOOOOOOOO delicious. I NEVER eat steak (I just don't usually like it) however, the filet mignon I had I just literally devoured it was so delicious. The other place we went to was Iguana Joes which is in Oranjestad. I would definitely recommend both places - especially if you are not doing AI!
