IM CONFUSED.............. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE MY C-PIECES TO HELP SAVE MONEY, BUT I HAVE A QUESTION, SINCE YOU WONT HAVE A FLORIST COMING IN TO SET UP, WHO WILL BE SETTING UP YOUR CENTERPIECES? WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DO THAT??? IS THIS A DUMB QUES?

Re: FOR THOSE WHO MAKING THEIR CENTERPIECES?????????
Yeah, I have the same questions. My mom said she would help me. But itjust seems like so much work to be doing the night before the wedding. I'll have to see what the exact savings is, because if it only a few bucks, I probably will just hire someone.
Has anyone made their own C-pieces? What did you do? We need help!!

Re: FOR THOSE WHO MAKING THEIR CENTERPIECES?????????
when we did them for my sister's wedding we made samples first - then we got a bunch of friends together the day before the wedding and we showed them the pictures and told them to make what they saw...we had at least 10 ladies here - mom's friends & our relatives We kept them outside that night (the flowers were in that greeen floral foam which we had soaked in water) so they were great in the AM We packed them in the car and drove them out - we put them on the tables as soon as we got to the place...
but now it's my turn and every time i tell the banquet manager they look at me like i am insane..i am thinking that maybe once you give them the $$ they are more flexible
i know what my mom and i are capable of so i will discuss with the place when i book it... that means i will get dressed at the place of the wedding...
is anyone else getting resistance from the venue they are having their wedding at??

I had anxiety over your exact question for a month. I am using mirrors, with floating flowers and votives. And I didnt want to harass anyone to setting them up for me. I called the North Ritz Club and they will set all of it up for me.

Now after re-reading these posts, I get the feeling you are doing your own floral centerpieces. I am not doing floral. Sorry!!

Even if you are not doing floral pieces when are you planning on bringing them there?? Before the wedding? I am just curious b/c everyone says 'well you are the bride and you'll be so busy' We did as soon as we got to the venue and put them on the table. changed and took pics...

I am planning also on doing my own. I was going to do the mirror thing with bowls of floating candles too! I am also adding those glass rock thingies too, and fake rose petals. I really like the look, very simple and elegant (and cheap!) I talked to the hall and they will be scheduling me a favor appt. the week of the wedding. I will give all favors and centerpieces, personal decorative items to the maitre'd and he/she wil make sure that it all gets set up for me! Very cool, and less stressful. I guess I will have to tip a little higher to the maite'd is all. Since I am staying the night there (inn @ east wind) I can just get my stuff the next day after checking out.

When we book I will remind them again - I just thought it would be no big deal...they have only 1 wedding per day...get up early drop them off, get the hair/makeup done go back, put them on the table and put the dress on and go take pictures - no biggie...
