i moved out here right before we got enaged so its like 3 years now from queens and yes i do miss queens alot. my dh was born and raised out here and doesnt understand why i miss the city. he lived with me in queens for about a year and it just wasnt for him lol. so i bit the bullet and moved out here it didnt hurt that my mom is out here. im hoping that it gets easier
I miss city living lifestyle a lot but I have to say I love owning a home and having much more space. I don' t drive yet so living in LI is very difficult. And even if I did drive I miss everything being a short walk away (I enjoy walking places), the hustle and bustle, the restaurants (esp the variety), take out/delivering food and everything being open much later.....But I do love my house and neighborhood and I still work in the city so I do get time to go out there and enjoy it somewhat.
I lived in the city for six years and we just moved into our new home in East Northport two weeks ago. The commute is a little hard to get used to!! I don't miss the city really but I also feel like it's hard to drive everywhere if we need something- I guess I'll get uesed to it in time. But overall, I like LI better- it feels more restful.
