For those who's parents are paying for the whole wedding except the RD...

As many of the girls have said if you decide to get them something separately do it in private so that your FIL's dont feel bad.

Also only you and FH know what you can and can not afford to give them as long as it is from the heart they will appreciate anything no matter the cost.

I really won't be able to give my parents much right now. The reason my parents are paying for the wedding, besides the fact that they've always wanted to give their daughter a wedding, is because FH and I just couldn't do it ourselves... if they weren't willing to do this, we would have to wait probably 5-10 years! We can give them something small... but really not an elaborate present like a trip or TV (we have to buy furniture and stuff for our new apt. first).

As far as the inlaws... I agree that I wouldn't give them as much. They are only paying for the RD. But they have also been a lot of trouble with this whole planning process. Honestly, the bridezilla in me thinks they don't deserve anything...
