For those with cats...I have a ?

I just discovered that my cat has kind of a rash on her backside next to anus. She's got a bald spot there. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow, but just wanted to know if anyone with cats ever had them have this problem and what i was or think it could be. I'm hoping its not ring worm which she had 2 yrs ago on her forehead, I just hope its nothing serious, I hate to see my little baby uncomfortable

Thanks guys...I have a feeling its ringworm. She is not complaining at all, she doesnt seem to be in pain and she's very playful. The way the rash looks now kind of looks like the ringworm she had on her head 2 yrs ago. I will post an update after tomorrow. Thanks again for you your concern

As long as she is not showing any sign of pain thats good. It probably is ring worm which is not uncommon in a cat is she an outside cat??? It might be from the dirt when she goes to the bathroom .

First definitely take the kitty to a vet..
It could be something wrong with her anal glands. The Vet will probably take a scraping (hair sample).. if it is ring worm, your kitty needs to be dipped in a special bath for ring worm, and then it needs to medicated for a week 1/2...

If it is ring worm, it could spread to everyone in your home, humans can get ring worm from animals!!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH IT!! if you do come in contact with it, wash your hands IMMEDIATELY w/ anti-bacterial soap, not Dove.
Trust me, you dont want to get ring worm.. it takes atleast 2 weeks to go away.

Good Luck! I'm sure your kitty will be ok!

Re: For those with cats...I have a ? update

Well, it appears that my baby may not have ring worm; they thought it was too odd of a location for it. They think it may have just been an irritation that she kept licking at and so they are treating it as a minor infection with antibiotics oral and topical. The only trauma I think my baby went through today was me getting her in the carrier which she HATES!!!! But thank God she is ok. Thanks again for your concern.

One of my cats walks right into the carrier like a dope and then as soon as the door is closed he freaks! The other one will hide anywhere to get away from us when we're trying to put her in, but once she's in she is fine. Cats are strange...mine anyway...

He walks right in!!!! None of mine would EVER just walk right in!!!! It is like a fight to the death with my boy and he is 20pds. and not declawed!!!! Once they are in they just do that very deep meowing non-stop. I had to take my boy to the vet and walked(I lived in midtown at the time) and he caused such a fuss. People were just staring at me while he is just meowing away!
