What do you set your temp at? How old is the unit. We just received our LIPA bill yesterday it was $267.00 about $100.00 more than previous bills. We generally keep the temp at 74 when we are home and 78 when we are out.

Matt likes to live in a meat locker. It's set at 68 degrees 24 hours a day. Our regular bill is in the mid 200's because he has all sorts of outside security lights on. The unit is brand new but big. It is a 5 ton RHeem. Way too big for my little house. OH Well the summer's almost over anyway.

i guess i wont have it too bad... mike loves the AC and i started worrying when we got a house that it would be high bills, but i just asked him and he said he likes 70-72
