Re: For those with little dogs and watery / stained eyes.
Well, my little guy doesn't seem to have the 'tear stains' yet, (is that what you're talking about?), but when I first got him, I got the eye wipes at Petco, to prevent the staining around the eyes from occurring. (My white poodle when I was a kid used to have tear stains.) I just try to keep the area clean, and 'eye booger free'
-hehe. He's been fine so far.

well, shes a white chihuahua, and her tears arent usually black like a poodle or maltese, theyre light brown, and im pretty lucky she doesnt have any stains, but i am ALWAYS cleaning her eyes anyway. thats the reaosn why ill never get a dog that commonly has those stains.

Re: For those with little dogs and watery / stained eyes.
thank you for the responses, my pups last Dr. said not to worry about it, just keep the hair short by his eyes and clean it with the pads to prevent the yeast bacteria. I have a shih tzu and then we moved and took him to a local vet and he scared me - he said it should NEVER stain like that, gave me oinment to put IN his eyes (not drops, thick oinment) and he has no idea why the last Dr. ignored this, and it is bacteria.

This happened to our family dog too!!! But fear not, the ointment will keep it in check. We put 1 drop in each eye and then we put ointment twice a day. He'll be just fine so dont freak out!
