I want to do somthing special for him as a surprise but not sure what?

well, i was going to get him a gift certificate to go sky diving out east as a wedding present (b/c besides the groom's cake there aren't really any surprises ON the big day)... b/c he went sky diving in switzerland a few years ago when he was living in europe so i thought he would like to do it again-- well, apparently i was DEAD wrong! he told me recently that he was so terrified once he got up there and actually jumped that he would never do that ever again haha! so i'm glad he told me otherwise i would have no clue that he didn't really like it! i think he thought he would like it a lot more than he actually did. i didn't know him when he traveled through europe so i had no clue.
then i was stumped-- so i thought maybe i would rent a really nice car for him one day (like a ferarri) and send him on a 'day of fun' with one of his friends or maybe his cousin... treat them to dinner, a day out in a town near the water like port jeff or northport-- somewhere he can drive around and enjoy the car b/c he loves nice cars... other than that, i have NO clue!!

I want to get a grooms cake. Not sure about the wedding or the RD. FH and I are both in the firedepartment. Since he is in a truck company I would like to have a ceramonial axe (they are all gold) used to cut the cake. I saw it on Wild Weddings and it was so funny. Perfect fit for him.

I am making a NY Rangers garter and I am surprising him with our cake topper. FH wanted this Nightmare Before Christmas cake (He is a huge Tim Burton Fan). I said no to the cake (would rather save the money with the RH one), but as a compromise, I am getting a Nightmare Before Christmas Cake topper! He will not know about it until the day of the wedding when he sees the cake! But of course I will also have my Minnie and Mickey one sitting on the cake table! Not sure what else I will surprise him with yet!

FH loves cigars...so I was thinking of surprising him with a really nice humidor to store all of his cigars in. I was thinking of having it displayed on the cigar rollers table during the cocktail hour with a musshhy card from me. He'll flip!

Right now I am in the process of trying to find his old car that he had wanted to fix up with his dad. Eight years ago, FH's dad died, and they had bought this car they were going to fix up. After his dad passed away, his mom needed the extra $ and it was also a reminder of how he wouldn't get to fix this car with his dad. So he sold it. He has regretted it ever since. He told me recently that he knows who bought it & I asked the name and now I'm going to make them an offer for the car.
