link - I don't know if I should be pissed at them...or ashamed that they are partially right...or both?

You know why cant they just leave us alone. Everyone hates us, until we step in and help them. Im sick of this, we are americans, and I am proud, if CHina thinks we are cruel, look his calling the kettle black

The US has A LOT to be proud of and A LOT to be ashamed of. They are just pointing out some of the flaws in our country.

Well is that not true? Arent those our basic rights? We still have alot of hungry and homeless people out there.

Our country aint perfect poeple. But at least we still have a right to say so...FOR NOW......maybe soon we will be like china...we are getting there. Any anti bush statement brands you as unpatriotic...we are not that far away from being ruled with an iron fist....

what do you think they are talking about on NPR when I get into the car to come home?

China...and how they censor the internet...before it even gets into the country...

I guess its new - when I was there - I was able to get to the NYTimes website...b/c hours before I was in Tiananmen Square there were 50 people arrested from the Fulon Gong (a spiritual organization that is banned in China) and security was tight when we were there...

AGREE WITH THE STATEMENTS. I MEAN CHINA, OUT OF ALL PLACES CRITICIZING THIS COUNTRY? I DON'T GET IT. BUT I DO HAVE TO SAY THAT RANDY NEWMANS LITTLE POEM OR WHATEVER YOU WANNA CALL IT SOUNDS IGNORANT AND ARE THE EXACT SENTIMENTS THAT AROUSE THOSE HATEFUL FEELINGS TOWARDS US. WE CANT GO AROUND THINKING WE'RE ALL BIG AND MIGHTY AND WE CAN JUST DESTROY THE WHOLE WORLD AND MAKE A PARKING LOT OUT OF IT BECAUSE I THINK 9-11 TAUGHT US THAT WE WEREN'T. WHY DO THEY WANT OUR BUSINESS?

it may be the other way around,,,I think the world is waiting to see what happens as China has 1.3 billion consumers...everyone wants a piece in that economy now that they are opening up...

but then I wonder...which would you rather have?

1. shelter...but no political or social freedoms

or

2. be homeless but be able to curse out the government?

my thoughts are the latter...b/c China has plenty of homeless as well...
