For your OOT guests?

For your OOT guests?

For anyone reserving a room block @ a hotel for OOT guests. Did you provide them with the complimentary shuttle from the hotel or get a shuttle from your limo company for their convenience to not have to drive? I hate having to make decisions for what people are going to want to do because maybe they'll want to drive & do what they want but maybe they'd like the decision & be able to enjoy the open bar more also & not have to worry how they're getting back to the hotel. TIA for your opinons :)

Def doing a shuttle. Just went to an out of town wedding two weekends ago and we were all freaking out when we thought there was no shuttle. We were in an area we were not familiar with and worried about finding a cab company b/c we were away, paid for a hotel, and wanted to have a good time and not worry about getting home!

If we book 40 nights the night of our wedding, the hotel gives the shuttle for free. Whether or not we hit that number, we're going to get a shuttle for our guests. Even if we get the free shuttle, we may get a 2nd so there's not a wait because I have a feeling it's only a 13 passenger van.

I'd recommend getting a shuttle for your guests, it makes the wedding much more enjoyable if you don't have to worry about drinking and driving.

Our hotel gives us a shuttle if we book 10 rooms. If we don't get that many rooms, we'll try to arrange some kind of transportation.

Are your church and reception hall in separate locations? I'm trying to figure out the best way to arrange shuttle/bus transportation between church and reception hall. Not sure about the timing. Our ceremony probably ends at around 4 and cocktail hour starts at 6--so that leaves about an hour of in between time.

no, both our ceremony and reception are at the RH. I'm not sure what the best way to arrange it would be...some other weddings I've been to there was no transportation to the church, but there was just a shuttle to the RH. But if you have a lot of OOT people without cars, that might not work.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was thinking people could drive to the church (in queens) if they cars (or get there some other way) then we'd arrange for a shuttle to/from Westbury Manor. My mother lives right near the church so I was thinking it could be a meeting point.

we'll be providing a shuttle service... in addition to preventing people from drinking & driving, i just think it's a nice courtesy for those who've traveled a long distance so they could join us on our wedding day. we also try to do things according to what we would like done if the roles were reversed. and i would definitely appreciate being provided with a complimentary shuttle.

We booked a hotel that allows us to get a shuttle no matter how few or how many guests we have. I believe if it was under a certain amount it was $5 per person each way. We are paying for everyone because I do not want anyone drinking and driving or not having an option

We are definitely doing the shuttle from the hotel. This way everyone has their cars in the morning when they are ready to leave. haven't started to price it out yet, but I'm estimating around $200.

I may consider using the escalade limo as the shuttle, but we have to see if that would work out depending on how many people we have staying over.

Re: For your OOT guests?

Thanks so much ladies for your replies! After discussing with FH we'll be doing a shuttle for our guests. I do see some of you are having it for the church & RH or just RH. This is my next hardest decision for this. Do I just offer shuttle service for the RH or both?

Re: For your OOT guests?

Just a shuttle from hotel to and from the RH - they'll have to find their own way otherwise

We are providing shuttles. We want everyone to be able to drink and have a good time without worrying about driving back to the hotel :)
