FH really ticked me off today. He needs new glasses, i know he needs new glasses, and he has an eye exam today. He had told me htat his insurance won't pay for glasses, but it will cover the exam. Thats it.
So today he messages me and says 'so we going to get my glasses when you get back from work?'
My response 'who's paying for them?'
'well, my insurance won't, and I dont have any money'
OK, my rant is this. His parents will help him pay for his medicine, his car insurance, his health insurance, cell phone, etc. Today is the FIRST I am hearing that I will be paying for his glasses, and supposedly I am making HIM feel bad because Money is tight. He knows money is tight.
But now I am the bad guy because I made him feel like a burden. Does he not get that if he had told me before I could have tried to put money aside, but he tells me 30 minutes before his appointment.
Am I over reacting, or is this just him not thinking?

You're definitely not overreacting. I would've done the same thing. I seriously think that men think $$ grows on trees and that WE know where these trees are...Me and FH have the 'but honey, we have no money for that' convo at least once a month...

Where are you going for glasses? You don't necessarily have to get them at the same place as the eye exam.
When I didn't have coverage, I used to get my glasses at a place in Brooklyn, that only charged $50. Not a bad deal for glasses.

Yeah, he definitely should have told you sooner... to save money can he keep the same frames and get new lenses?

hahahah its him. that will always be the case. 99% of the time if there is a fight between FH & I, its his fault. and he knows it too!

Re: forgive me, FH rant

It's all him. Don't feel bad, you didn't overreact. He should cancel the appointment and reschedule it when you can put some money aside IF he expects you to pay.
That's called compromise.
