Formal Attire Requested or Required

Formal Attire Requested or Required

I don't want a black tie or black tie optional wedding but I do want it to be formal. My FI is from a small town, no fancy weddings, so I know it needs to be said somewhere...what's the best way to phrase this:

Formal Attire Requested
Formal Attire Required

Other ways to say this?

I think this is the best way to go about saying it.

If it is really just your FH's oot relatives you are worried about you can have his realtives spread the word

Problem with this...I've been to a wedding with him and it said formal reception to follow...We were SOOO overdressed it was uncomfortable. Women had sun dresses on and men wore khakis.
