Do you recommend that I get on a journal or compete for law review (I am eligible)?
How important is it that I am member of a journal for getting a job or anything else?
I just don't know if I want to do it.

I didn't do it, but moot court is GREAT. It's especially helpful for litigation, but learning to hone your legal skills and communication skills will help you in any area of the law.

I am was recently admitted (YAHOO!!) and I have to say, I absolutely loved Moot Court. I didn't grade on to Law Review, and since writing on is virtually impossible at my school, I tried out for Moot Court.
I have to say, it kicked my butt for two years (and still does as I'm an alumni advisor), but totally worth it. You will likely walk away with more than one writing sample and if nothing else, you learn how to manage your time.
Whatever you decide, try out for either one. As a graduate of a third-tier school (and proud of it because its hard no matter where you go), law review was the ticket for many of my friends into Big Firm. That wasn't what I wanted and I have to say, I would definitely do it again - all-nighters included.

I echo everything that has been stated. Competing for law review is the most adviseable thing.
