Former Thatched Cottage Brides

What hotel did you use for OOT guests?
They all seem pretty far, except for the Chalet Inn right next door. I've heard some scary things about that hotel, are they true? I looked at the rooms, and they seemed OK. The Holiday Inn and Hilton both seem kind of far, especially since most of my guests if not from oot are from brooklyn or manhattan. Please advise!
Thanks!

Hi - we used the Huntington Hilton. It was a little far from Thatched, but it was halfway between there & our church (which is on Broadway in Amityville) so we decided to go with it. We also like that it has a bar - we started our afterparty out there After pricing a few places out the HH really seemed like the best bang for our guests buck. The Marriott's were both too expensive and I thought that the Holiday Inn was too far east for our particular set of guests. We checked out the Huntington Country Inn (which is on Jericho) and while they were renovating & it was nice & clean, it had more of a motor inn feel to us than that of a hotel feel...so for about $10 more our guests got the HH. No one said a peep about the drive back, so I don't think it was a problem. HTH!

For my wedding at the Thatched Cottage, our hotel is the Long Island Sheraton. No hotels are extremely close, but this is one of the closer ones. They have nice rooms/amenities, a bar in the hotel, and several suites for the bride/groom. We are offering a shuttle between the hotel and the Thatched.

We are using L.I Sheraton as well

Does the Sheraton provide a free shuttle?
I was hesitant to use the Holiday Inn that the TC recommends because all of my guests are coming from Brooklyn,Queens/Manhattan, and that is 20 minutes past TC for us. That's why I was going to use the Hilton, its close for us city folks, but I just saw horrible reviews on Trip Advisor, so now I'm scared -- and we were going to pay for a shuttle too.

My best friend (one of my BMs) got married at Thatched Cottage over the summer and we stayed at the Melville Marriot.

She had a group breakfast the next morning with eggs and bacon and stuff, it was really a nice way to end the weekend. The Marriot set it all up, she didn't have to do much at all. . .and the service was great.

If you have any questions about Thatched (from a guests perspective) feel free to FM me!
