For those who work for them is it best to look for a job posting on the companies website?

Re: Fortune 500 Companies
I always do that and I never hear anything....(post on the website). In my experience, and from working in HR, I think it is better to contact someone directly if you can. I feel like my resume gets lost on those websites.....

Re: Fortune 500 Companies
For my company, definitely NOT. I used to work with the Staffing dept. and I would always hear them say 'what's on the website isn't necessarily what's open' but they keep all resumes in a database for future reference... (supposedly)....
I would contact the Staffing department of the company you are interested in directly. Just my opinion!
Good luck!

Best always is having a contact on the inside to help you through the process!

Re: Fortune 500 Companies
I got my job by sending the resume through the company's site. And they actually do keep it updated (we just had a vacancy filled, and it was advertised there).

Re: Fortune 500 Companies
R&T - call the main phone number for the company and ask to speak to HR. My company keeps its website up to date but I think it's always best to know someone on the inside. Do you know anyone at the company you are looking to apply to?
