i posted on there that my best friend was laid off last thursday and most of corporate was.

I was there yesterday, and a gilr was there trying to scan stuff into her registry, and they told her then that they werent scanning any more items because the company was going to auction.
I ran into some employees in the mall food court, one was saying after 30 years it was his last day, I mentioned I had started a registry there not to long ago (MLK day) and the guy looked at me and told me to move it.

I think it is disgusting they are not informing people of this. last week I told my sister to call and they told her everything was fine, the store was not closing, they were still accepting registries and honoring gift cards.
The least they could do is be honest.
I understand there are bigger things going on here than brides upset about their registries. but this store was a staple in Long Island for many years. It is a shame to think they are allowing their reputation to be so severely tarnshed by refusing to be honest about what it going on.

hardly anyone on LI (those not on this board) even know about this! thankfully FH and I went last week to cash in our GC.
Ya know they arent even running real sales. i think what we got (cuisineart fondue set!!!!) was only 15% off. o well.
its sad. the employees seemed relatively clueless about when/if they were going to be laid off too...
