Fortunoff ' Girls night out' on 09/20/07
So, I went to my first 'bridal /vendor activity' yesterday at Fortunoff in Westbury
I was not sure what to expect, but it certainly was not what happened. I was interested in the bridal fashion show......what show????
There were only about six dresses in the show ....all from Bridal Reflections by the way. The girls modeling them looked like walking corpses and the dresses looked like sxxx
Not only were they ugly, they were extremely expensive
The cheapest one was close to $2,000. Even the other ladies around me where complaining and we could not understand why would they show such expensive dresses. The second thing I was looking forward to at this event was to hear Mrs. Wendy Weiss speak. Mrs. Weiss is a well known wedding coordinator who did Eva Langoria's wedding. She is currently fortunoff's spoke person. So here....I think at least somebody that will give great advise. So, what happens?
The lady provides all people present (which there were many---over 300) a powerpoint presentation on the elaborate weddings she has done for famous people. What do you think that made me feel like?
I am sure it also made many other brides feel like crap. Mind you....she keept reminding the crowd how many of us may not be able to afford many of the stuff she was talking about.
Another thing....My girlfriend and I met some of the vendors present, do I have things to write
, but I will keep this short, it is already too long as it is. I am sorry for that
, but I am so dissapointed.
So, here is my review of such vendors. The seleciton of designer Bridal Gowns provided by Bridal Reflections ******. The cocktails by Caperberry Events could have been done by anyone and I did not try their hors d'oeuvres. The cake and flower vendors----I can't recalled their names....they where horrible. Well, I am a simple person and like simple clean elegant lines, so I did not like the over elaborated flowers. The cake was so dry, that we had to throw them out right away. Oh...the presentation of such was beautiful, but the actual taste....horrible.
The positives were the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon & Spa. and the take home goody bag.
Did any of you attend? What is your opinion of the activity?
