fortunoff girls !!!!!! please read

fh and I went to fortunoffs to purchase a new hallway rug for their 75% off sale...

sooo we go to pay with our 'dream card' and the sales lady procedes to tell us that they aren't allowed to accept those cards anymore... they are also NOT selling gift cards either...

she then proceeds to tell us that everything there is day by day but she's already looking for a new job !!!

so then after we pay for the rug I march right up to the bridal and gift registry and start asking questions...

the girl there was very very sketchy but told me that i didn't have any dream points because i just received a card... which is true... but if i have any gift cards to use them in the near future...

if any of you ladies have gift cards or dream points rewards CASH THEM IN ASAP !!!!

just wanted to let everyone know...

ps-- make sure you give them a call to see if you have any dream points available !!!

i spoke to one of my bm who is a planner there last night and she said they are no longer selling gift cards, they will accept gift cards as payments but will NOT issue new ones.

as for the fortunoff credit card, you can use it but you can NOT open up a new card.

things are day by day, no one knows what is going on but a lot of people (including my bm) are very scared for their job.

they were told that they have 3 potential buyers and one of the buyers is a well-known liquidation company.

FH'S AUNT WORKS THERE AND SHE HAD CALLED THE OTHER NIGHT SAYING TO MAKE SURE WHAT EVER WAS ON MY REGISTRY IS WHAT I REALLY WANTED B/C I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN IT. SHE SUGGESTED MAYBE OPENING ANOTHER REGISTRY WITH MACYS OR BLOOMY'S. SHE SAID THAT THEY WILL PROBABLY BE CLOSING. NOT SURE WHEN THOUGH??? THEY CUT HER HOURS. I JUST MOVED OVER SOME STUFF TO BBB. I MAY NEED TO TAKE MY CHINA OFF I DUNNO.

OMG I was really nervous about this. I just read in Newsday that they were Bankrupt again and that Lord and Taylor wanted out. Basically most of our registry is at BBB but we do have some things at Fortunoff. Our invites already went out so we have to leave some things on that registry. I have noticed that Fortunoff has been having crazy sales every weekend. Now I'm really nervous about keeping things on there what if something needs to be returned. I am seriously going with FH this week to use our gift cards.

Most of our registry is Fortunoff

FH and I will be re-registering at Bloomingdales and BBB I suppose.

We didn't register at Fortuneoff for this reason. How sad Sign of the times.

i just called fortunoffs, i will be receiving a call back this afternoon, i will find out as much as possible and let u girls know!!! FH and i r going to go pick up our bedding tonight i believe, just in case, we love it too much to lose it.

ETA: I'm sorry, but shouldn't they warn you when going in to register about this all of this? Is it ALL of fortunoff's or are they closing some locations?

We started changing things over to BBB. Some of the items are only available at Fortunoff though.

I have so much on Fortunoffs, I also hae BBB, but now I'm really nervous, last thing I wanna do is going and redo that WHOLE registry!!

I'm registered at Fortunoff and BBB as well, but BBB said if you bring them your Fortunoff registery they can move everything over. At least it's an option if Fortunoff's does end up closing. Then you don't have to pick everything out all over again.

Of course there's going to be some stuff they don't have....then I don't know what I'm going to do. I really wanted to keep my registery at Fortunoff, but I just don't know.

what is most annoying about this is that all of the points have accrued so far for things already bought off my registry which I hoped would be a nice fat giftcard after the wedding, will be worthless. i think im jumping ship and transferring it all to macys. so much for returning oo, ugh. FYI we ordered our sofa and loveseat from fortunoff due to come in around february and still no word. WONDERFUL

I didnt do the registry just yet.. but I was planning on def doing BBB and looking into this place. Not anymore!

This totally blows! I know my shower is sometime this month. I am so upset because I registered entirely at Fortunoffs and am petrified in the sense that I may not be able to return some things.
