This stinks! My mom has over $500 in gift cards for things she returned in the past and now they won't even accept those! These are gift cards that have been paid for already, it's not like they're free!

Oh well.

I went to the NJ store this weekend and we spent about $300 of my mom's gift cards, and she still has $500 left.

Hmm, looks like it may be filing for Chapter 7 soon (liquidation). That means the permanent end of the company.

This may not be a bad thing for the GC holders. It will take time, but by filing with the US Bankruptcy court, you may be entitled to get compensation once they liquidate all their assets. If they stay in Chapter 11, they might not have enough to pay back their unsecured creditors (that would be us).

So we tried to use the GC two days ago and it was allowing it, BUT now today 2/21 at 2pm the option is gone. CRAP!! Waited too long. Some people said it didn't work anyway, but I wanted to try. Hopefully hanging onto the card will do something. Nothing like flushing money down the toilet in this great economy!

Mklatsky, go to the store ASAP! I just called their 800-line, and the mssg says you can use them from today til 3/8 only. I'm going on an extended lunch break right now!
