Fortunoff VENT!------Update....now, even more pissed!

I used a gift card to order some things off of my registry in early December. The never arrived. I called in late Dec and was told that they were back-ordered but would arrive in early Jan. Never came. Same cycle repeats 4 times. I called last week and was told that the items arrived in the warehouse and were being shipped to me.

Yesterday I get a credit in the mail with no explanation. I call Fortunoff's and they tell me that I am being refunded for the items bc they are permanently discontinued.

What crappy service!!!

UPDATE:

I just looked at my registry and the items are now showing as special order with an expected arrival date. I purchased the items during a big sale. I called them and they said that if the items do come in, I can purchase them again AT FULL PRICE! Are you freaking kidding me?

ugh- its probably b/c they are going out of business/selling or whatever.

A few of my registry items were discontinued also..including my flutes and server

we were registered there until about 2 weeks ago. We were trying to use a gc and couldn't online and it was expiring thta night so we didn't use it, then we realized the shipping was ridicuolus. and all of our china was on backorder for 10 weeks and I know my shower is coming with in the next 2 months so we switched to MAcys

I had a bridal shower on feb 9 and the bride was registered at Fortunoffs. I went there on like January 20th and ordered some items - there were some steak knives on her registery - the woman that worked there told me if I ordered them now they would be in 'no problem'

They were supposed to call me when they were in so I could pick them up (they wanted to charge me for shipping even though it was out of stock). I called them on like the 5th of February and they told me that it was on back order now and they wouldn't be in until END OF APRIL. I was so freaking mad, this woman told me that the shipment was on its way when I ordered them. We had to put a note in the bride's card since I had already paid for the knives in full

I hate fortunoffs.

Exactly why I refuse to register there. Aside from my mom working in their headquarters knowing exactly what goes on. It really is a disaster.

Although i already had by bridal shower this is a really good post for Fortunoff brides that are unaware of what is going on whose guests are going to be purchasing from their store. I guess you just have to keep on top of your registry everyday and check the status of the products to make sure there are no conflicts...and try to register at other places as well!!!

I can't even begin to go into how much I DISLIKE fortunoff. My three sisters and FSIL had a horrible experience in purchasing stuff for my shower for me. I got involved after the fact, and they were so RUDE and everyone was trying to pass the buck off to someone else. The westbury store is so so, but their online customer service is the pits. I am closing my registry out this weekend - I can't wait. I will NEVER shop there again!

that really sux!! I started to take items off my registry there & switch them over to BBB!! Good thing shower invites didnt go out yet I may just delete the Fortunoff registry!!

I called the customer service number and voiced concern about my registry as well. I got a call from FH because he as been getting calls from guests who were not able to find a lot of things via internet or the store because of the special orders/discontinued/etc.
I within minutes got a phone call back (after customer service couldnt help me) from the bridal registry manager and she is looking into the situation because more than half of my registry is now special order! She thinks that ever since they have downloaded the new website there has been 'gliches' in the computer room, so she will take a look at it and call me tomorrow.

Customer service also told me that the registry is not effected by the business issues they are currently working through. Fortunoff will still remain Fortunoff even if they are bought out by Lord & Taylor.

HTH and I am sorry this has happened to you.
