Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

Which is better priced, better incentives to register?? Like I posted last night, in the end, we really need furniture. I feel Macys might be better in that aspect (in terms of gift cards or returns will go towards furniture)

Any help?

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

I dont think I can blatanly register for a couch set, but I figure any returns or gift cards can be applied towards what we need.

I heard bad stories regarding Macy registries. Just to let you know that Fortunoff is having a big sale. You should check it out!!

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

I just registered at fortunoffs and they were soooooo helpful I couldn't believe it.. I didn't even have to ask the people were right there and asking me if i needed help. Not to the point that they were annoying though. I would definately go with Fortunoffs over Macys IMO

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

I am registered at fortunoffs. They have usually about the same prices but sometimes fortunoffs is cheaper... the best part about registering at fortunoffs is what ever china you pick out ...the soup bowl comes frre with it all the time (they keep extending the offer)

the soup bowl is about $65 depending on your china so it makes a big difference.
Also i have known a few people that have registered at macy's and have problems with them not taking things off the list. They received double and triple of things at their shower.
if you need any info FM me.

I'm also not a big fan of Macys, but love Fortunoffs. And I agree that it might be hard to register for furniture, but you never know!

Fortunoff by a mile...

Macy's is a pain in the butt and their customer service is awful.

Fortunoffs is wonderful! They are very helpful there and take returns with no problem. I have heard many negatives about Macys registry.

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

I registered at Both Macys and Fortunoff. I luv Fortunoff! After my wedding I was thinking that I should have registered at BBB instead of Macys cuz now I luv BBB. Fortunoffs really does have alot of nice stuff, you can get gift cards from there and there really isn't any hastle (IMO) in returning items. Good Luck!

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

MACY'S is a nightmare. They never have anything in stock - even at herald Square. i used to be a buyer at MACY'S. That place is a mess!!!
I registered at Fortunoff. So far the service has been OK. They have an online help section but if you email them - they will never email you back. I've called a few times. One person wasn't so nice but the rest were OK.
Overall - I'd go with Fortunoff. I compared all my stuff and Fortunoff was much less expensive

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

I have never liked Macy's because they never have what they advertise and I just think they have gone down hill. However, Fortunoff's can be a little more expensive. I registered at Fortunoff.

Re: Fortunoff vs. Macys?---any advice

I registered at both Macy's and Fortunoff. If it is furniture you are really interested in, I would go with Macy's. They have very nice furniture. But I am biased becasue my Uncle is the head buyer for Macy's East Furniture

Fortunoff's has a much bigger variety and selection than Macy's...
So we went with Fortunoff...
