i dont think its too early.. thers a lot to register for!
maybe start off with things for the bedroom and bathroom and then another day to formal china and casual..

i think bed bath and beyond gives you cash back if you do returns whereas at fortunoff you get store credit.. in case you decide to return things because of doubles or like something else..

but check out both as far as what you like.. i think fortunoff may have more to choose from but bed bath and beyond keeps expanding their selection so i dont know!

I don't think it is too early. People might even want to get you some gifts now seeing as the holidays are here. Things might get discontinued but that will happen anywhere. Our luggage from Bloomies was discontinued and they never notified us. Some other items from BBB were also discontinued but they send us notification through the mail as well as one phone call.
I recommend BBB and Bloomies. Not to long ago another bride started a thread about where to register which contained a lot of helpful info. HTH

I think six months before your wedding is perfect timing to register. Some people may be starting to look now for gifts for you, so they'll know what you want.
I didn't have a Fortunoff registry, but I had a BBB registry and I loved it! They had everything I wanted & the return policy can't be beat.

My family nagged us until we registered a year in advance, so 6 months doesn't sound too early at all.

BBB doesn't have many seasonal shifts, but Crate and Barrell does change a lot of things every 3 months or so.

Exactly... I had a lot of items on my C&B change or there would be limited quantities or backordered items.

BBB is the absolute BEST!

Fortunoff's does not have a great return policy and my experience with them was the least favorable

BBB is pricey, but they have an easy return/exchange policy. You can get money back as long as the guests mentioned your registry when they bought the items.
However, not all BBB stores have the same items, so some need to be ordered. Our guests didn't order the items; they just got something similar to what we'd registered for, so we ended up ith 3 sets of different glasses. It's a good thing that the return policy is so good.

I picked BBB over fortunoffs because

A. people that are from oot will be able to find one

B. They have the best return policy for registry stuff

C. You can't beat the prices, especially with the coupons

I hope that helps!

I registered at all three places you were considering mainly because there was one item I wanted at each place that I couldn't find elsewhere.

I had good experiences at all three places although, as a previous poster mentioned, Crate and Barrel's inventory tends to be seasonal so items get discontinued frequently. Although this is the case, they often introduce a similar item in a different color.

Fortunoff was good, they had a nice selection of items and I liked that for china and crystal, they had what was requested in stock. Everything that was purchased from the registry was removed after it was purchased.

I had a good experience with BBB too but, they have a habit of not removing everything that is purchased off the registry. They are convenient and it's great that people can use the coupons to purchase gifts. I'm not sure if it's as much their fault or if someone prints the registry out online and doesn't go to customer service to pick up a copy when they are there. Returns are very easy and I found they have the best return policy - up to 2 years from the date of your wedding and you can return for store credit or cash (make sure the person handling the return knows this - the first person I dealt with only gave me a store credit - which I wanted anyway to buy things I didn't receive). Just beware though that the price you get is the lowest price of the item during the period so in one case, I only got $5 back for an item that was $20.

We've registered already, and went for both BBB and Fortunoffs. It's not tooo early for you.
