Fortunoffs Rant!!!

I'm sorry to have to rant so early in the morning but I'm sooooo pissed right now. I had previously posted how my FH and I just bought our wedding bands and it was such a great price and then we got an extra 20% off for friends and family. That's wonderful and great except this morning I get a call from Fortunoffs telling me that my wedding band is going to be more expensive... Let me explain. When we picked out my FH ring that had advised me that the price was from 2006 and they would need to get the current market value for the ring before ordering (price may go up). So that was fine with me becuase my ring at the time was costing less then his. So the ring I had chose was under a thousand dollars and it was an eternity band (diamonds all around). Since my ring doesn't have diamonds all around I wanted to inquire about the price for it being half around so the saleswomen and the manager let me know that they would find out before ordering and the price would be less which they figured would offset the price of my FH ring coming back more expensive. So the ring at the store was less than $1000 in a size 7 but my ring would be in a size 4. So here I am thinking (because of what they said) my ring would drop in price or stay the same if i decided to stay with the eternity depending on the outcome of FH ring. Well FH ring ended up costing the same but my ring in half band of diamonds is going to cost more than the ring at the store which is an eternity in a size 7 and if I wanted to still have the eternity it would be even more.
So I'm telling the lady whom called me with the price that noone told me or advised me that my ring could end up costing more or that the price was from 2007. They were very clear about my FH ring but not about mine. If she had told me that it was going to cost me more I would have never placed the order. All they said was less, less, less. The women on the phone could have cared less about what I was saying but they should be honoring the price they gave me to start off with. So what happens if I had decided to just go with what was there that day were you going to dare call me with a price increase.
I've had nothing but problems with Fortunoffs since day one.

Thanks for listening to my Rant!!!

Off to now a fun filled day at work

sounds like you should just go somewhere else. Lots of places have eternity bands or bands with the diamonds half way around. Im sure u will find one you like just as much at a better price elsewhere.

i just wanted to add that i think fortunoff is a rip off when it comes to e-ring and bands....we were looking at bands in fortunoff for FH this weekend - just browsing - and all the bands he picked were like 6K - he tried on the same type of bands at our jeweler for 2500-3K.....FH said the same thing with their diamond prices....

I agree 100%. I would complain to the corporate office. They don't want that sort of bad reputation especially with their recent Lord and Taylor Merger.

I am going to make a complaint to the corporate office about what happen. The salesperson called me while I was at work and left me a message that I misunderstood what she said and that it clearlt states on my receipt that she needed to get a price on the half round. Yeah, nice try - I work retail and you messed up. You gave me a price and to offset the possible increase in my FH ring you were getting me a price on the half round because it would cost less. If she new that the ring wasn't at current market value then she should have gotten a price on both the eternity and half round since she new that I was to make a decision once my FH estimate came back. They are a bunch of liars and don't take responsibility for there mistakes.

Could any of you recommend a good jeweler??
