Found a tick on me

I found a tick on me this morning I have no idea how long it was on there. And sunday night I had a really bad headache and when I was looking up tick bites this morning it says that head aches are a sign. I gotta wait till the doctor opens at 10 to call him. Hopefully it's nothing.

save the tick and put it in a jar so they can make sure it is not the type that gives you lyme disease - i had this when i was younger ( a tick not lyme disease) so gross my dad had to cut it out bc it wouldnt let go of my scalp and we were too afraid to wait for the doctor!

Yeah my sister pulled it out this morning with the tweezers. I put it in a ziplock bag. I know that to release them you have to pour alcohol on them.

Im sorry!! Im sure you are okay though. The dr. will know what to do.

Im always afraid if I had one on me I wouldnt know what it looks like and would confuse it with a mole or something.

when you go today make sure they do a base line lymes titers....and make sure you start keeping track of any symptoms untill you find out if the tick was positive or not....My 8 year old has lymes if you have any questions or want me to FM you the lists of tests to ask for let me know!!! hope it turns out ok !!!

i never knew that!
some people think you can burn them out but that makes it burrow into your skin even more!!!

where were you in the past few weeks? anywhere outside of NYC/LI?

yes this past weekend I went to my house in vermont.

They say not to burn it out. It makes it go in your skin further. The alcool kills them and makes them release. you have to put alot on though. And make sur eyou take tweezers and gett he whole thing out of your skin.

Don't worry...ticks that are visible do not carry Lyme's Disease. The one you found just ***** your blood but doesn't cause any harm,

Any type of Tick can cause Lyme Disease. And it's not just Lyme Disease. There are many other types that you can get from Ticks.

Only deer ticks transmit lymes to a human....though there are many different types of bacteria that can be transmitted to humans and cause harm.....testing the tick and bloodwork are the only way to know for sure.....there are alot of wives tales out there..

1. you have to get the bullseye rash to have lymes..alot of people never find the tick or get a rash

would be the most important other then

2. If u can see it it cant cause lymes...

and I am not knocking anyone who thinks this as I am a nurse and I used to believe them too

If you save the tick you can mix it in a sloution of half alchol and water to better perserve it !!

I have Lyme disease that I contracted from a deer tick. I never saw the tick, but I did have a bullseye rash on my leg the size of a baseball. I took medication and I am virtually symptom free, w/ occasional muscular aches. I was flu-ish when I was first diagnosed, but I mostly feel fine now.
