Found out today a friend of mine passed away
Hey ladies,
I have had a pretty bad day. I got a call earlier from my father that a friend of ours passed away. He was a neighbor of mine growing up. He was 31 years old. About 4 years ago, he was diagnosed with colon cancer, they removed his colon and he was free and clear for about a year.
It all started like this, he got married to a girl from Romania (b/c that's where he was originally from) and found out when he was there that he was bleeding. When he came back to the US, he went to a dr. and they said it was colon cancer. Not knowing that his mother passed away when he was just a year old or so from the same thing. Anyway, for a year his wife lived in Romania and came here to live. After she moved here, sh*t hit the fan with everything. His grandparents, who raised him here and his wife did not get along and he moved out and developed cancer throughout his entire body! For about 2 years, he went on living this way, not allowed to talk to his grandparents, etc. Nonetheless, his grandparents found out yesterday that he was in a coma for 5 days and he passed away yesterday morning. This is the sick part, his wife did not even call them and would not return my parents calls for months before. They found out through their friend in Romania.
This is such a tradgedy. This poor guy was not able to live his life in peace with all this drama and now we found out that the wife will have his grandparents arrested if they try to attend the wake/funeral. This is just ludacrous!! I feel so bad b/c he could not live his life in peace and apparently, he could not even live his afterlife in peace b/c of all this.
I understand they all did not get along but to me, this just takes the cake. I don't care how much you hate your inlaw, I don't think she did the right thing by not telling them and acting this way.
Now, my family is upset and so are we and we are hoping there will not be a fight between his grandparents and wife. My parents were thinking of not going to the funeral b/c they don't want to be involved but I don't care, I think we need to pay our respect, regardless.
I have known this guy since I was about 13 and am now 32 now. I feel the need to go, despite what my family does.
Anyway, I knew I could count on you ladies to listen to me vent and express my feelings of sadness.
Thanks so much for listening.
