I went dress shopping this week and I am in love with alvina valenta 9600. an 08 bride just wore it emomma17 soooo prettttyyy!!!!!!!! So i tried it on at bridal reflections in carle place but was not in love with the lay out of the store or customer service , its not somewhere i think i want to go for fittings etc .. i called wedding salon of mannhasset and they can order it but i am assuming at a higher price .. what do i do?

I love love LOVEEE that dress and Alvina Valenta! Her designs are so timeless and beautiful! I'm wearing an AV too!
You could all AV and ask for a list of authorized dealers in your area. They also have a list on the website I think. I found mind at a store in NJ that my friend took me to (but I live in PA) and I think they had that dress! They weren't on AV's list of authorized dealers but when I called them they confirmed that it was OK to buy from them. So you might want to just call around to see who carries the dress.

Have you tried calling the other salons that sell the Gown in New York. I saw on the website that these salons can order the gown

I ordered my dress from the Carle Place store and BM's dresses from the Massapequa store and so far everything has gone really smoothly. Maybe it was a bad day when you went in. You can definitely try Massapequa if you don't feel comfortable in Carle Place.

well first find out how much wedding salon is selling it for. also ask them if they are doing a trunk show any time soon. I had such an amazing experience at the wedding salon of manhasset...you should definitely go there and check it out.

Can you find out how much wedding salon of Manhasset would charge for the dress before ordering? If so find out then call around to the other stores they have listed on their website as authorized dealers. Beautiful dress by the way.

I hear Burton's can order dresses for you from anywhere. Maybe you should give them a call. Or try RK bridal in the city. I've heard good things about them.

don't be so sure it will be more expensive elsewhere. Bridal Reflections wanted to charge me double the price of my dress than most stores.

That dress is beautiful! I just ordered my dress from the Carl Place store and they were amazing to me..... and believe me.. I was a PITA! Maybe you can ask to deal with a different salesperson? I had Jackie and Marni, who is the manager.

Don't feel you have to get it altered at the store. There are alternatives, and I think home seamstresses are much better. Oh by the way, it's a gorgeous dress.

beautiful dress!! i would call and ask manhassett. some bridal salons will either meet or go below what others are asking. make sure they have a cap on alterations!!!!

That dress is soooo amazing. Like other people said - You should really just not be afraid to call and ask what salons can do for you on price. Say - I have the dress for another price somewhere else but I would so much rather purchase from you because 1, 2, 3, - could you get me closer to my price point. .. . b/c no one will sell for not a profit so if one store can do it, trust me another one can too! any chance you work in the city??
i'm bought my dress in the Carle Place location, but i'm having the dress sent to the city to do the alterations there. everyone was REALLY nice there.

that dress is def worth getting ... go on the designers website and see where it recommends you getting the dress .. its usually lists the stores that carry the line
