Can anyone tell me more about the Fox Hollow. We went today and we liked it, but I want some reviews from people that have been there. Also, has anyone had a wedding or been to a wedding at Westbury Manor? We really like it there too, but they only had a Sunday night. Please help

Re: fox hollow.....
I loved the Fox Hollow from the first time I walked in. I went to a wedding there last summer and I loved every minute of it. I also went to a wedding at Westbury Manor I thought it was just as good. Go with what ever your heart leads you towards!! I have heard good things about both halls!

When we went there, we were asked what our favorite drink was and they brought us two cosmos. Then they came in with the chocolate fondue! Loved it!
WM has a beautiful cocktail hour set up outside, and the drive up with the antique light posts really is a nice effect. They didn't give us as much as the FH did, and they wouldn't give us the room that we wanted - they wanted to squish us in this tiny room across from the library - so we booked with FH instead.
I loved FH from the minute I walked through the doors. The service is unbelievable, the quality of the food is top-notch, and the place is just gorgeous.

Re: fox hollow.....
i went to a wedding at both places. Westbury Manor was better as far as service went in my opinion. I did not like the room the b + g chose at the Fox Hollow, it seemed as though we were in the basement.
Not sure but i know that the cocktail hour was in the atrium room I think! That was lovely! We walked down sone stairs for the wedding reception. the ceilings were low and I did not like the set up. It's not about what I like though, it's about what you like!

Re: fox hollow.....
The room downstairs is the Briar Fox room. It's three steps down from the main level. I love the fact that it's so dark and that the ceilings are low - that's why we chose that room. You go from the sunny cocktail hour in the Winter Garden Pavillion with the high ceiling and tons of skylights to dinner in the dark BF room with the deep paneling, tons of mirrors, and lower ceilings. I think it makes for a nice transition, especially because I love darkness and the deep colors of that room, so it works for me.
Everyone I know (except for my fiance and me) has been to a wedding at Fox Hollow, but I don't know anyone who has been to one at Westbury Manor. That was a selling point for us for WM, but for many reasons, we didn't book there. WM is set back more from the road, so it has a more secluded feel - perfect if you are having your ceremony or cocktail hour outside. I wouldn't have a ceremony outside at Fox Hollow because it is right next to the road.
I didn't like that if you were in an upstairs room at WM, or to get to the bridal suite, there was only one narrow staircase to use. But they're both Scotto facilities, so I'm sure they are very comparable in terms of food and service.

Re: fox hollow.....
yes they did and I felt like a pig eating it but it was so good. The woman we talked to was really nice too, but they only had Sunday nights available and we wanted either a Friday or Saturday.

Re: fox hollow.....
We were offered the Briar Fox room and the Winter Garden for Cocktail hour too. I loved it right away. We did like WM, but we didn't like that little room either. I think we might go for Fox Hollow on 10/28/06. Thanks so much for all your help.

Re: fox hollow.....
We just got married there, we where in the winter garden pavillion ( the one with the glass ceiling) It was unbelievable everyone had such great things to say about it. The matre'd and bridal attendant where great, we even got to sit down and eat a little bit of each meal.. The food is great.
