We are getting married in Jan. We asked for the free room and they said no. After I almost walked out of there, he said he would give me the free room! I think I had the hardest time out of anyone with these people.
Wow I can't believe that, who are you dealing with? Dave is who we are going threw and it seems great. It wasn't neg with the price but he threw in some stuff.
I first dealt with Dave also. Everything I asked for he said NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! My finace told him he had heard they give a free room to the bride and groom..NO NO NO NO.
I asked for an extra 1/2 hour for my CH and i was willing to pay..NO NO NO NO NO NO.
I asked him to put in the contract if the place burns down or if they change owners that they would refund me...NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
I started to cry in his office and he said, I'll throw in the free room..and then he said 'See, I'm not a bad guy!'
Next time I went there I asked to speak to someone else.
That's rude. My BM has been nothing but nice and accomodating. Even when we changed everything a million times. I would definately ask the manager if you could have your BM changed.

I still haven't been able to get an answer on the free food. I wish FH did tastings, that's so far the only issue I have with them, cause I trust that the food will be good, but I would like to know what the new items taste like

I am getting married on 11/28/08 and so wish I could find my date twin! But yes we did get a comp room. Our BM Ron was SUPER nice and sweet. We didn't ask for the room, but he knew we were coming from Brooklyn & flopped it in the contract! Victor Scotto does the group rates over at the Inn @ FH & he was a joy to deal with.

When we asked him who the bakery was for the cake, he told me they don't use a bakery, all the cakes are done on premises...ok, that's a lie- why would he want to lie about that?
And we asked if we could taste the food, that was another NO!
When I signed up on this site, I found out that the bakery was Erga bakery in Bethpage and that some girls were getting food for free at the restaurant after booking.
I called the bakery and asked if I could do a tasting and when I spoke to the second BM he told me I could come in for dinner and he would take care of it.
I hope they don't read these Threads..I might be in even more trouble!!![]()
They do read this thread. We discussed it at my final meeting!! It's like Big Brother...they're always watching!!

When I saw Dave, he told me that he was the director and I wouldn't be dealing with him anyway after that first meeting.
He was so rude..he would cut me off continuously to answer the phone...not even an excuse me, he would just answer it and walk out the door when I was in mid sentence.
My mother came back with me that same day to see the place and told him he was was being rude and she told him that she knew it was because if I walked out that day, then he knew someone else would book the date.
Is there another Dave or is this the same guy? Once he got my check he was so nice and gave me a stupid stuffed Fox! I went to another RH and they gave me a bottle of champagne just to congratulate us on our engagement and we didn't even book with them.
I can't get over that! Maybe there are two Dave's. The Dave I got was so nice and really accomodating. He spent so much time with us and answered all my crazy questions. My parents went back four times before booking. I guess everyone has their off days....

yeah, i worked with David too and he was a pleasure (Even after we had a blow out with Frank)... After reading these posts I really dont think they have any rhyme or reason for what they throw in. I feel like it depends on what kind of mood they are in that day

Ladies who are nervous about the Briar Fox room...don't be!
I was a little nervous at first too, the low ceilngs were my obsession for MONTHS.
it got kind of ridiculous, i almost cancelled b/c of it.
However, the night of our wedding, I walked in and was SOOOO happy with my choice.
Its a cozy, comfortable room, they will not over crowd it.
the location of the band or dj is great, most of my guests commented that they liked being able to enjoy the music without it being like a concert or show, they liked that the bride and groom were always the main focus.
i posted a pic a few pages back, and will post more soon.
Seriously, it's gorgeous.

I think LIprincess is right, it doesn't seem they are very consistent in their offerings. As long as we all have a day to remember forever!

Also, spoke w/Frank over the phone a few times. he was also very professional. sorry to hear other girls are having problems. They honored everything that was on my contract. i guess the key is to get everything in writing

Thanks...you are right, I seriously freaked out last night after I learned they read these posts. But they should know that the way I was treated is unacceptableand if they read what I wrote, maybe their attitudes will change for the next Bride.

Does anyone know if they give you a free meal to eat at the restaurant if you request a tasting? Or is it just the appetizers?

I asked about having a tasting and they said they didn't do one. However, I have heard some girls say, if you call ahead and tell them you are going to eat in the restaurant, then they hook you up.

See, everytime I ask about this, I am told to either talk to Ron about it, or no one gives me a straight answer, other than no food tastings.
I would love it if we could get a meal there, i love the food
