The chairs in the Briarfox are burgandy, no? Don't quote me, best to ask the Fox Hollow.
If that color will clash with your decor then yes, use the covers. Chairs with covers only look fine. In my history of attending formal events, I've only noticed chairs that were plain hideous- dirty, tacky, clashing or were extraodrinary- organza sashes or something.
Anything in the middle looks lovely.
true i did once notice UGLY chairs. I chose the ivory chair covers... im sure they will be fine... $3 per chair, 150 chairs $450 i could spend on something else!!

it all depends, maybe its bc i am getting married, i now NOTICE EVERYTHING at a wedding then i used to, I think as long as you have the chair covers for the BF that's fine, if you don't have the money for the sashes. I just think the chairs in that room are ugly, they are kind of out-dated - jmo

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
My two favorite subjects, cakes & chair covers!!I had these exact issues. I wanted something more sophisticated for my cake.. i also didn't trust their bakery (although I will say that now that i've seen more pictures in this thread, i guess they could have done a decent job). I went with an outside vendor, Sweet Karma Bakery, in East Meadow.. The cake was gorgeous and so good. After a LOT of negotiation I got them to throw in a martini bar at the cocktail hour- originally they only offered another station at ch, but we were already having 10! It was a LOT of back and forth, but people loved the martini bar. In terms of the flowers, if there is a specific look you want with them, be sure to tell the maitre d and bridal attendant. My bridal attendant put them on my cake without asking me and I really didn't want them all over the cake- it was supposed to be a cluster on the top.. oh well, didn't matter in the end, but upset me at the time!
It really upset me that the ribbons were extra but I just could not deal with paying anything else at that point. So i just went without it. I was not anticipating liking it, but it really looked PERFECTLY fine.. i was in the GT room too. And.. realize that many men will put their jackets over the chairbacks.. and that sort of throws the look off anyway.. so if you don't feel like spending the money, don't torture yourself over it.. it will be fine!

I don't know if I've ever attended a wedding with chair covers AND sashes. It honestly looks fine without the sashes. I don't think it's worth the money at all, I'd rather save it, or spend it on something people will actually notice or enjoy. But that's just me...

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
I'm such a fool. When I met with my Florist to finalize this past weekend I didn't even realize that he wouldnlt be able to set up the centerpieces bc my reception room is my ceremony room. Is this a big deal? I mean, they're low centerpieces, nothing elaborate. The Fox Hollow should be able to set these up, right?

Wow... Dave showed us a totally separate room that seemed to us to be only for the Ceremonies. Did you ask to have it somewhere else? Or do you have a large guest list that maybe they won't all fit in the other room?

I'm having 192 people at my wedding. I think that is why they are using my reception room as my ceremony room.

I'm about to have a mini stroke over here. Do any of you ladies know if there is a minimum age for children where we don't have to pay for their plate? I know of atleast one infant coming to the wedding. But I seem to remember Ann Marie telling me that maybe it was 3 and under that we don't have to pay for them. I don't remember and I have to give my final count in on Wednesday.

I believe that children 3 and under are free...but keep in mind, that they won't count in your count, so they don't get a chair & also no food. i think if you want them to get at least chicken fingers you would have to pay 1/3 off your per person price..but you may want to check with your BM.

I would call to make sure... like i said i am not 100% sure..they might get chicken fingers - at my menu meeting she asked me how many children under 12 i would have - & i said about 10...so she said they could have the option of chicken fingers if they didn't want the regular dinner. I didn't ask about children under 3... Now I'm going to ask also.

OK, I just called and spoke to them. They told me that if the child is very young (2-3 yo) and you just want a chair for them, there is no charge. However, if you want them to eat, it's 1/3 off.

I kind of figured that... at my cousins wedding last year my little cousin was almost 2... he just ate from his parent's plate..i think most 1-3 year olds can get full on cocktail hour food and if they are hungry again at the reception they can 'share' with their parents... I don't know...$40 for chicken fingers is just a little ridiculous to me!! LOL

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread
Hello Ladies & happy holidays,As we look at our budget, after many bumps along the way ($4000 to the vet and other mishaps) we are worried about affording wedding rings. THere is NO money left to put towards them and if we end up somehow with extra money there are other places this money needs to go. Anyway, I originally was going to go to a friend's father who is a jewler, but now I am thinking of going to Kay's or Zales since I received store cards and can charge the rings. Is anyone else get rings from these stores? Also, on their sites I see a lot of white gold but no platinum, I am hoping in store there will be a wider selection. Is anyone getting white gold??
TIA!

Also try Whitehall Jewelers in Roosevelt Field and Sunrise Mall they're going out of business, we were looking at rings and could have gotten each ring for $400.00. Rings were originally 1k+
