Fox Hollow gals, need your advice...

FI and I are thinking about cancelling FH and find some where much cheaper... we are in the process of buying our first house, and it is just a little too much....

so far we've paid them $2000 ($500 deposit), can we get this back since the wedding is still 8 months away??
contract states that we'll lose our deposit, but do you guys think we can negotiate with them??

FI asked me last night which do I really want.. the nice wedding or the house.... I want the HOUSE!

I know that there is a law in Suffolk that states that they must give you money back if it is before 6 months, but I am not sure about Nassau. If you really want the house, I say cancel FH. You have to be happy with your decision. You don't want to keep FH and hate looking at your wedding pics because you keep thinking that you should have cancelled. Just do some research first.

Also, go talk to them. See if there is anything they can do to lower the price. Explain your situation and see what they can do.

why dont you talk to the fh and see if there is anything you can do to change the price or date or even just the time of the wedding if you are having a night wedding maybe they will let you switch to get a better price????

I asked FI if we cancell Fox Hollow perhaps we can go to a cheaper place, he said he prefer we skip the catering hall all at once and have the wedding at the house!!
... that's not going to fly with my mom...

I think we can handle both the house and wedding, it's just that FI is a worry ward and he feels safer when we have a big chunk in th bank.. but owning a house is worth it!!

Going to try calling FH to see if we can bring the gurantee guest number down.....
