I am seriously considering booking the Fox Hollow... The wedding ceremony would be outside on a Friday at 8PM (not by choice, that's all that's available). The only thing that's holding me back is that the area for the ceremony is basically on Jericho Tpke. When I asked about the noise from traffic, I was told that there is a waterfall that they run which helps to cover the noise, and that when the trees around the area are grown in, they help keep out the noise as well.
Has anyone either been married outside there or attended an outdoor ceremony there? If so, was noise from traffic an issue or should I not worry about this?
I really love everything else about FH and need some advice on what to do... Please HELP!!!

Re: Fox Hollow Outdoor Ceremony - Traffic Noise???
I am getting married at the Fox Hollow in the Winter Garden Pavilion and my ceremony is also at 8pm on a Friday night. The times stick to the room no matter what night you choose...annoying I know
But the good thing is that I actually went on a Friday night and I really couldn't hear any traffic noise and that was last month when the trees really aren't full.
And at that time of night on a friday, there really won't be any traffic on Jericho near Fox Hollow.
AND you have to keep in mind that you will also have your ceremony music playing in the beginning and people will be paying attention to yours, your FH's, and your officiants words on the microphone Fox Hollow provides.
HTH!

I agree, the time restrictions are really annoying... I even thought about getting married outside somewhere else, and then having the cocktail hour start at 8PM, but apparently they won't start the cocktail hour before 8:30PM anyway. I am willing to work around these nuances because the Winter Garden room is so beautiful! Also, if the weather doesn't hold up and we can't have the ceremony outside, I wouldn't mind getting married in that room.
It does make me feel better that you went there and didn't hear any traffic noise. I was able to hear the cars passing by when I was there a few days ago, but the waterfall wasn't on and the trees are bare. So hopefully it won't be an issue!
Thanks!

I did the same thing! I was looking around to see if I could do it elsewhere and start the cocktail hour at 8, but its all because of the way they share all the rooms. FH and I absolutely LOVE the WGP, so we couldn't pass it up either
Are you getting uplighting in the room?

Re: Fox Hollow Outdoor Ceremony - Traffic Noise???
one of my friends got married at fox hollow outside at 8pm and the noise wasn't an issue until a police car and fire truck drove by witht the sirens on but the minister just stopped and waited for the noise to stop. It was actually kind of funny but that realistically can be heard even if you get married indoors!

I went to a ceremony there at that time and I could hear the traffic if I was listening for it but once the ceremony started I didnt hear anything at all.
