Fox Hollow Review!! *now with pics!*
I apologize in advance for the awful pictures. FH was in charge of the camera. (
) Also, I didn't get many pics of Fox Hollow. They're on our disposable. The digital was left up in the bridal suite for most of the reception. So as soon as I get those I'll post them too!
I had the absolute pleasure of being a BM in my MOH's wedding this weekend at the Fox Hollow!
The ceremony was at St. Joe's in Babylon - beautiful! Everything went well. They did a short mass (no communion) and it was really wonderful.
Fox Hollow was wonderful. From the moment we (the BP) arrived they really took care of us. Christina was the maitre'd (?) and she immediately cleared out the trunk and carried ARMFULS of stuff up to the bridal suite.
Fox Hollow brides - make SURE you specify that you want food in the bridal suite! Dear god, we were famished when we arrived. The ceremony was at 3 and the reception was at 730. We were done with pictures by 5 pm, and we were STARVING. I am guessing you have to pay extra for food in the suite (?) but if you do have as big a gap as my MOH had, I totally recommend that you get some food. you will be hungry! My MOH and the rest of the BP were super hungry!
I dont even know WHERE to begin with the cocktail hour. Sweet jesus. They had the cocktail hour in the Winter Garden Pavillion. Gorgeous. Honestly, if I could get married there, I'd have my reception in there. It was amazing. There was food EVERYWHERE and it was fantastic!! My FH was in HEAVEN. He must have had 4 plates of food. AT LEAST. The only thing he said wasn't very good was the pork.
The reception was great! Kerri - it was in the Briar Patch room, the tables were round, and they had 12 at each table. My MOH used Absolute Entertainment and they were a bunch of fun. They played a lot of Boardy Barn music (bride and grooms request), but they did play requests of house, rap, oldies, etc. It was a bunch of fun!
The food was great. The first course was massive shrimp on a bed of lettuce and my FH and mom LOVED it (I dont eat seafood). Not one person at our table touched the intermezzo (sorbet) but it looked nice. I think we had 7 (?) choices for the main course. I had the chateau briand which was great! My mom had the tilapia and loved it, and my FH had the Shrimp Scampi and loved it. I dont think I heard anyone complain about the food. Honestly, there were 4 courses, and I have to say that it was borderline excessive. For desert we had waffles, ice cream, chocolates, and then cake. I didnt even touch the waffle - neither did anyone else. I was ready to barf (in a good way!
) after eating so much.
Flower Michele did the flowers and they did a freaking fantastic job. I have pics of the bouquets to show you. For the centerpieces she did like 6 different sized pillar candles with rose petals around them. It was gorgeous (didn't get a pic of them though
).
Ok, now onto my complaints (which believe me are minimal - the wedding was AWESOME). Fox Hollow does an amazing job. They have everything down to a science. While we were there I believe there were 3 (maybe 4) weddings going on at the same time. Fox Hollow is FANATICAL (to a fault, almost) about making sure that brides do not run into each other. We were late to our cocktail hour (the bride and groom decided to do pics beforehand so they could go to the cocktail hour) because Fox Hollow wouldn't let us out of the bridal suite until the hallway was clear of other brides. My MOH didn't care if she saw another bride! she just wanted to get there. But they seriously barricaded us into the suite until 'the coast was clear.' The same happened before the reception. Everyone has a blue tooth and you felt you had secret service ushering you around the Fox Hollow!
My only other complaint was during the reception. We had just gotten to our seats and the best man MOH were about to give their speeches. The bartenders and kitchen staff (both areas are close to the sweetheart table/area where speeches are given) were unbelieveable loud and rude while they were giving their speeches. people in the kitchen were laughing, screaming and running around while the BM/MOH were giving their speeches. Everyone was shocked and kept turning around to witness it.
Honestly though - it was one of thes best weddings ever! My MOH was BEAUTIFUL and she had such a fantastic day! Again, I'll post more pics when I get them, but here are a few!
