To all of you using/have used the Winter Garden Pavilion at Fox Hollow for your reception:
Are you having/did you have plasma screens? I didn't think there would be enough room on the dance floor, but now FH wants them! I wouldn't mind getting them, but I don't want them to take over the whole space. And with the rooms different layout (dance floor at one end, not in the middle) will people really be able to see our slideshow anyway?
Give me your opinion...

what time is your reception? we just got married there, did not have the plasmas. we were told that if you have a daylight reception it may not be good to spend the money, as its hard to see with all the lights. if you look at my review, you can see the effect even on uplighting between the day and evening

It's an evening wedding... 8:00 pm. So, definitely dark. I had originally ruled them out due to the space issue, but both my FH and my Dad saw them at a wedding recently and loved the whole baby slideshow thing. Ugh.

if you have them by the DJ, honestly it may be hard to see, even if dark. The DJ is next to the bar, near the fireplace. if you set them up elsewhere, it may affect table space and dance floor.
but ask your dj. they may have done it there before and have pics of the set up

I'm leaving that up to my DJ. They have dj'ed in that room many times. hmmmmm.....I may be calling my BM and my DJ cuz now I'm stressed....

We opted to not go with Plasmas for this exact reason. We also aren't doing any lighting since it is an afternoon wedding and they will be pointless. Our DJ actually pointed this out to us. That is how we knew we loved him, he didn't try and charge us for something we didn't need.

I am getting married in WGP a week after you!! (11/20) My DJ drew out a sketch of what the plasmas would look like and they seemed to look as if they would fit fine. He added the plasmas in no charge so I know he wasn't just trying to sell them. He said he has done them in that room tons of times and they look good!

My dj is a friend of mine so the plasmas were just an added plus for us. So at least I know he wasn't trying to make a profit off of us! LOL.
