I am ready to book at the fox hollow’s winter garden pavilion (for a sept 2008 wedding) and have a few questions to ask before I do so. I was hoping maybe some of you would know the answers?? I can ask them, of course, but I would love to hear your experiences and what they told you so that I can make sure they tell me the same thing. :)
Here are my questions – anyone who knows the answers, please feel free to comment!
1 – Do they give you a choice of linen colors? And are the linens included in the per person charge? (Some charge extra)
2 – Is there a corking charge (for wine they provide – I am not bringing my own) or a plating charge for the cake?
3 – Do they have any other “hidden fees” – such as a charge to take my photography there before the ceremony (or anytime not during the reception, that is)? To use the grounds or special photo studio?
4 – Can I take pictures in the WGP while my guests are in the cocktail hour? I love that room and I would like to take pictures by the waterfall, fireplace, etc if I can.
5 – My fiancé remembers the banquet mgr telling us that all of their cocktail hours are 1.5 hrs. Is that true? And if I wanted, could mine be only 1 hour?
6 – They have told me that all Friday night weddings there start at 8. Could I move it up to 7 or even 7:30 if I wanted? My mom is concerned that if the wedding ends at 1:30 (1.5 hour cocktail hour starting at 8, reception starting at 9:30), people will leave early and since she’s paying for 75% of it, that bothers her. (I can see her point, but I don’t think many would leave – maybe 15 people out of 130?)
7 – How soon before the cocktail hour could I have my ceremony? I would like to have it at 6 so that I have some daylight time during the ceremony (sun sets at 6:10 on the day I want to get married) and after for pics (I do not want to see my FH before I walk down the aisle). At the very latest, I would want to have my ceremony at 7 so that there is time for photos since we want to be at our cocktail hour.
THANKS ladies.

Re: Fox Hollow - Winter Garden Pavilion questions
I'm not booked in that room, well only for cocktail hour, but I will answer what I can.
Any fees would be printed in the contract. We have nothing included about linen charges, corking or plating fees, but we are not bringing anything in. There is no extra charge for using the grounds or the photo studio. However you have limited time at each because of other weddings going on at the same time.
They don't start two weddings at the same time, 8:00 may be the only time slot left for that night.
The cocktail hour is only one hour, not 1.5.
Hope that helps!

Answers to the best of my capability...i'm booked in there for January of 08..
1. Yes you havea choice of linen colors. We haven't picked ours yet - but as far as I know there's no additional charge.
2. No plating charge - maybe if you bring in your own cake they do charge it... Corking fee - again - not that i'm aware of...premium/top shelf bar is included.
3. There is no fee for the photo studio at all. We are permitted access whenever we want. I will have FH call tomorrow to confirm. He was going to call anyway & i'll ask him to relay these ?? & repost answers..
4. I don't know - but i'm so asking that - great question!!!
5. Cocktail hour is 1.5 hours long. I don' tknow if you can change it...there's a TON of food...
6. You will have to ask them this ?? yourself - i have no idea.. We asked if we could move our wedding up and the answer was no - but we're fine with our start time...
7. Our ceremony starts at 6:30 - our cocktail hour at 7...but we are a Sunday night..
Hope this helps in some way! The few ?? i'm not sure of - FH will ask tomorrow & i'll either FM you or update this thread...
Jess :)

You get a choice of linen colors on site but any upgrade such as chair covers are additional. If you are using in house cake they do not charge extra cake cutting fees As mentioned additional fees would have been added in the contract although it's a good idea to always ask your BM. If you get answers different then it would be helpful to other FH brides! You have use of the grounds for picture taking but there are two different gardens and the WGP brides have use of the gazebo in the front. I learned this from my photographer who had done weddings there so they will know what's allowed and not. I'm on a Sunday night and I'm given 1.5hr CH. This probably has to do with clean up from a day function and setting up the room for you. If someone had their CH in your room previously it needs to be cleaned up and set up for your reception. As far as I know the times are pretty much it because they can have two day functions and two evening functions and they need to accomodate everyone! Any timing issues you'd have to discuss with your BM. My photographer said he could get the pictures done during the CH but there is a possibility we could be late to the reception. We will take pictures before the ceremony and do the first picture in the gazebo. Then we will do a run through of the ceremony right before the guests arrive.

Re: Fox Hollow - Winter Garden Pavilion questions
hmm... im a fox hollow bride and Im getting only a hour cocktail hour??? It seems like everyone here is getting 1.5 hr cocktail hour. Does that make sense? The only thing i'm thinking if that they do it differently for saturday nights.
I got to the post a little late... everything the other girls told you about your questions seem to be the same answers i have.

My cocktail hour is only an hour too, on a Saturday night. That's kinda sketchy that you get a longer total time for Friday and Sunday - I don't like that.

Here's my theory...at least for the Sunday - the restaurant is closed - so the cocktail hour for me is in the restaurant - i can have it longer - since they aren't normally open. On Friday - i truly don't know...

They told me mine would be an hour and 15 minutes, lol. I figured it had more to do with making sure none of the weddings run into each other...I actually think you're in the WGP right before me

Re: Fox Hollow - Winter Garden Pavilion questions
I am getting married at the fox hollow and using the WGP for our reception.
If you are getting married at the Fox Hollow, you have to go right from the ceremony to the CH. There would be nowhere for your guests to go if there was break. This is what they told us for a Sat night, unless it could be different for other nights (although I am in Feb, so that is an off time).
Question of my own - does anyone know the max number of people you can have for reception in the WGP without having tables on the dance floor? I called and asked a BM (my BM left the company) and he gave me a sketchy answer. He wouldn't give me a flat number. I am expecting between 120 - 150 but DO NOT want tables on the dance floor, so I need to know if I have to cut down the list.

I've heard the max is about 150...but I expect they wouldn't even consider having tables on the dance floor. So I think you should be fine!
