Has anyone used anyone else besides their photographer to frame their large picture. Im torn. My photographer wants to charge between 2-300 dollars to frame it in a basic black frame. Has anyone used any other framers or even Michaels???
Recomendations?

I'll probably go to Michaels or AC Moore. I might go to a framer to see what they say.

I'm getting a 16x20 and I'm wondering how I'll frame it. I would go to Michael's or AC Moore. It's going to be a lot cheaper than going to a photographer to have it framed.

i was planning on going to michael's when mine came in. They always have a coupon to use for framing - its 40 or 50% off i think.

The other day we were driving down Northern and I saw a few frame places. I plan to check them out when the time comes. I would suggest looking ine yellow pages and going in to the shops to check them out and get price quotes. Don't feel stuck with just one option.

I used my photographer and it did cost alot. But if you bring it to another place and it gets scratched or ruined you would have to pay the photographer to get another picture made up.
I wouldn't change spending the money. Patken did a wonderful job framing mine. And I figured after all the money we spent, what was another $300.

I'd stay away from Michaels. I find that they overcharge. I recently brought a piece of artwork to Pearl Art's framing department -- it was bigger than 20x20, and it was only $160ish. I brought something similar sized to Michael's and it cost me $450.

Re: Framing 20X20 Wedding picture
We used a place called Stu-Art in Baldwin on Grand Avenue. We only got our 16x20 framed (the 20x20 was too big for our apt so we decided to wait to get that one done).
I can't remember the exact price but I believe it was around $200 or so (maybe a little less). I KNOW it was quite a bit cheaper than our photographer but I never priced Michaels.
Michael's is currently having a 50% off sale on framing this week.

not sure on the quality, but I was in Broadway Mall today and there is aframing plce in there. They had a sign out front that said custom framing up to 24' x 36', I blieve the price was under $30. I am not sure what you get for that. It's in the entrance by Ruby Tuesday's, Entry #1.

I already did the research - I went to Michaels and AC Moore for pricing on frames and for a 20x20 - which I am also getting was over $300
