FI is a BIG Frank fan. I am thinking about hiring a Frank Sinatra look alike to sing during cocktail hour as a surprise to FI.
What do you think?

If you are going to do that, have him come during dinner. There is way too much talking, mingling, walking around during the cocktail hour for everyone to enjoy. During dinner hour, everyone is sitting and eating and can really enjoy it then.

I totally agree. My dad hired us (as a surprise) a Cher impersonator. She performed during dinner and everyone got to enjoy her.

We just went to a wedding on Sunday that had one sing during the dinner, he was amazing. Didn't 'Look like' Frank, but sounded just like him! the cocktail hour might be a little hard and your DH might not get to enjoy him if you're off taking pictures etc... if it's a surprise for him, you certainly want him to enjoy it

OMG! I'm doing the same thing, but for the Dinner Serving...probably for a half hour or so. The FI and I Absolutely LOVE FS and the RAT PACK!

You want a sinatra SOUND alike, not look alike. he could LOOK like snatra nad sounf like lindsay lohan! LOL.
My sister did it during dinner hour. She had Jim Altamore. He was SO great that guests lined up to shake his hand afterward and some actually tipped him..LOL
Dinner is much better than CH becuase CH is too frenetic and I think it will get lost. It's perfect musci for dinner!

Sounds like a really great idea, during the dinner hour. Don't worry about the looks as much as the sound tho, that's what's most important cause people will be listening to him more than watching him.

We had a FS singer @ our Wedding & I think he was a bigger hit than WE were!!! He sounded JUST like him (didn't look like him). Seriously, everyone LOVED him!!!! He sang at our dinner hour & then came back for an 'encore' for dessert! I TOTALLY recommend it.

I am having a 'frank Sinatra' singer at my reception. My DJ recommended that he sing during the main dinner courses so people can appreciate him. Usually during the cocktail hr everyone is chatting/mingiling, so he will basically be lost. I think it's a great idea to get a singer, it will add a special touch.

I am having Frank SInatra during my dinner hour. It is someone that is hired through my band Ric Mango. I heard him sing at one of their showcases and he was great!

There is a guy named Gene who works for Tommy Tunes DJ and is AMAZING he sounds incredible but isn't a Frank look alike. They have the cocktail option or SPD option (soup past dinner) so basically he sings while they are serving food during the reception. I think he costs 700 for either.
