what is the better area of Franklin Square? I know some parts that border up to Elmont aren't great (from what i have heard) so whats the safe and better area to stay near??

We are looking at an apt near the Pathmark, Carvel , Ralphs Ices, etc area.......is that good?? its off exit 15 on the Southern State Parkway......between franklin avenue and dogwood ave

That's fine. The area by Pathmark also borders Elmont but that area is fine. I think anything in Elmont north of Mecham Ave. is the 'better' area.

I had an apt. right over there near the Friendly's. That area is fine. One of my friends is a cop over there and he said just don't go to Pathmark too late...gets a little creepy. Lol. Good luck with getting the apt!

If your coming from the S. S. parkway it's on the left hand side about a block or so before Pathmark. I think it's across the street from McDonalds.

I think any store late at night brings out the weirdos. Have you ever been to a walmart at 2 am?

I think any part of Franklin Square is basically fine. The other positive is there is a drive thru Dunkin Donuts right down the block on Franklin Ave. I drive there sometimes if I'm too lazy to get out of the car

I just sit on the drive thru line and watch people go in and come out and I'm still in the same spot. I think I might go there now!

DH's parents live off of Dogwood and have been there for 30 years and love the area, we live in West Hempstead, which is 5 mins from them and the area is good too
