So we all know how stressful wedding planning and paying can be. Well my company told us to start 'considering' other departments we would like to work for as our HR department may be shrinking in the near future. They said no layoff in the company but it would be beneficial if we explored other options.
So I go to Florida on business this morning and find out that a whole department has been given the option to relocate to the middle of the country or they are out of work. This is their idea of not laying anyone off.
I am freaking out because I know I (HR) am next. We are paying for this our selves and losing my job right now doesnt fit the plan, or payment schedule set forth by our vendors.
Do you ladies know of any HR position out there? Recruiter, generalists? Anything? I am absolutely freaking out!

Maybe you should try contacting a recruiter. I ahd a similar situation happen to me. The company I was previously working for got sold and they were getting rid of the accounting department. I got to stay through the transition and got a bonus for it. But in the end I still needed to find a job. Good Luck looking, I am sure everything will work out.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. my company has had it's share of layoffs too, not too many, but still....it keeps me on my toes everyday. hang in there....i hope it works out.

So sorry to hear it - I am in HR also and I know how we can sometimes be viewed as expendable!
I will keep an eye out for any positions - I have a name of a recruiter calls me weekly with positions - FM me if you want his name & #.

i wish i had info for you, but check out the papers & craigslist.com and monster, career builder .com
i always see listings for HR positions and other fields....check those out!!!!

WOW! thats crazy! Not to mention unfair to force you to relocate or loose your job!
I know a staffing agency that is great for finding people jobs. The companies hire them so the money is not coming out of your pocket.
I used them and another co-worker went through them. They are great! I will send you the information.
