Re: Freaking out about Engagement Party
How many people are you having??? Did you try Lido beach? How about a place that has an outdoor area, like Patty Mcgees or The coyote grill in Island park? You can also look the nautical mile, like Schooner, where there is a patio or JC cove...

Re: Freaking out about Engagement Party
There is Bay Park in Oceanside which is on the water...and they have a picnic area... you can try more out east or on fire island... The thing is, most public places require permits and they end up being expensive and you more or less won't be able to obtain them by that date. What about someone's backyard?

This is what we are doing too so we don't have the headache of looking for a place. Good luck!

Check out Hecksher Park. You can have a party there and all you have to do is apply for the permit. It is free and the only cost to you is the price per car to enter the park which I think is like $8 per car. Also, Hecksher State Park has a beach area too!

You can see if they can work a deal out with you for the parking, like pay a flat rate or something. The mushrooms are cool and you may not need the tent (if your even permitted for it). The only thing is that if other parties are going on, you will be RIGHT next to them. But I love lido and I think its a great spot. You can set up a volleyball net, tell your guest to bring swimsuits and walk down to the beach....
