FREAKING OUT about my invitations!!!! ARGHHH!!

WARNING: Vent below!!

OK, I realize that this drama is partly my fault because I probably should have started working on invites sooner, but I'm so stressed right now and I need to vent.

I am getting married in LESS than two months and my invitations are still NOT HERE!! I ordered them at the beginning of April. The first proof took over two weeks to come, and (it figures) FH and I didn't like it. We had it reworked. The second proof came in faster, thank God. We approved it about a week and a half ago. The invites shipped late last week and just arrived at Invitations and Beyond today. They need to do the calligraphy for the envelopes, and I found out tonight that I won't have the invites until Monday the earliest!! I was praying that I would have them this weekend so that I could stuff them and mail them out first thing on Monday.

My RSVP date is June 4th. At this rate, my guests will have less than two weeks to respond!!!! I am the worst bride ever.

You know, it might actually work out better for you. We are all planning on sending our invites out to give people 4-6 weeks to respond, and absolutely everyone has had RSVP problems. Maybe with only two weeks time to respond you won't have that problem because people will realize they don't have time to wait!

Most of the guests wait until the last week (or even until the RSVP date) to mail their responses - so I think you will be fine.

I just read your post and it was deja vu! The same exact thing happened to me with the same exact vendor!!!!

We ordered proof on April 1st, had to put $100 deposit down (which IMO is ridiculous) to get the proof. We still didn't have the proof by April 17th!!! I called several times and got a run around b/c of the holiday blah, blah, blah! Finally, I pulled a bridzilla move and ripped into them saying if we didn't have the proof the next day, we were going with another vendor. Miraculously they were able to get us a proof that night (which seemed a little fishy). FH and I both hated it, so we went first thing the next morning and they could not have been ruder to us! Telling us b/c we were changing it, we wouldn't get them until mid-May! She even had the nerve to say 'Your wedding isn't until the beggining of July, you shouldn't be sending them out that early anyway!' I walked out so upset! FH and I both felt uneasy about them, so we went to Garden City Printers that afternoon, found a great invite, had the proof the next day and the invites were in a week later! They were mailed out this past Tuesday!

When we called the Invitations and Beyond to cancel, she actually said to my FH that all the work they did cost them money, at which my FH reminded her that she had our $100 deposit - she then promptly hung up on him! Unbelievable! Oh well, we may have lost a $100, but I am telling EVERYONE I know about how 'professional' they are!
