I'm sorry to hear you need to change your hall.

Grand Prospect Hall can accommodate a huge party, but they're not exactly cheap. I'm having my wedding there, if you want an example of what their price range is FM me.

Terrace on the Park in Queens is nice, but i'm not sure how many guests they can have. El Caribe seems to be another nice place I've heard a lot about. There is also Sirico's Caterers or Riviera Caterers (not that cheap either).

Try the Rotunda at Kingsborough College - Its QUITE beautiful and ENORMOUS

also try Dyker beach golf course - it just opened in the fall so should have availability. Not sure how many they accomodate but worth looking into

I do not understand. Don't you have a contract? can the RH just change things like this?

Or did your dad make a mistake and not realize what food was part of the per head price he was paying?

Either way, I think it is really unfair of your dad to demand you change places. And really not riught of FFIL to demand so many extra people unless he plans on chipping in.

There must be a reasonable solution to all of this short of changing everything. Perhaps you can work out something with the hall in regards to them giving you a few menu items for cheaper.

Is you FFIL contributing financially? If not, tell him he needs to cut his list DRASTICALLY and BUTT OUT about location!!!

I believe leonards can accomodate you but then again i'm not sure. You can definitely try them. I'm so sorry you have to go through this, I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

I worked at Leanords of Great Neck and they can accomodate that many people. 3 1/2 months is not alot of time to work with though... Good Luck !

Its been hectic.

So FFIL is kind of chipping in ...but doensnt even come close to covering 600 of his guests! I have noooo idea how he knows that many ppl .

Ugh

And with the contract with the hall they made a mistake on it with the price so we sent it back to change. When my dad went to fix it that whole conversation came up . THANK GOD that contract wasnt signed .

Have an appt tonight at Elite Palace in queens!

600 of his guests,
200 of your parent's guests,
plus your own guests

Makes for over 800 guests, geez!

My FH and I are paying our entire wedding on our own. What we did was told each of our paernts that they could invite 6 guests. Anything over that they had to pay for their additional guests, including dinner, favors, etc.

After that both sets of lists were cut DRASTICALLY!

Elite Palace is really nice and its brand new...And the BQE is right there, so it should be easy for your Brooklyn guests.

I agree, and to be honest if somebody told me this 3 months before my wedding i think i'd laugh at them. Don't let people dictate everything about your wedding and don't jump at whatever everybody says.

First of all you need to talk to your RH, i also dont understand either bc you should have a contract that tells you exactly what you are getting for the price you are paying. You should've had a menu and all your options before booking. I would try to really resolve it with them bc you don't get your money back and you might even owe, only suffolk has a law where you get money back and im assuming its not in suffolk since you are not looking in LI. The only time you get SOME money back is if somebody else books for that date and with 3 months might not happen, is that a risk you want to take?

and 600 guests from FFIL? that is INSANE and you need to put your foot down. Is he paying for these 600 guests? with 3 months to go,if you really do change your venue, its going to be hard enough as it is to find a place, but you are now going to have even less choices since a lot of places can't accomodate that many people so you would have just a few choices.

I think you need to sit everyone down and not let them dictate everything you do.
