Freaky vendor

Ok...so I got a recommendation from a band in New York for string quartets. I started emailing back and forth with this guy, and he was really aggressive over email.

I had asked if we could meet in person when I first spoke with him, and had then given him my mailing address so he could send me a CD of the music.

Well he started to email me every day asking if we could meet that day, etc...
He started to really overwhelm me, so I told him I would be in touch when things calm down because I am so busy.

So the other night FH and I are watching tv and the doorman at our apartment buzzes up. We answer and find out that the string quartet guy is IN OUR LOBBY....he got on the phone with my FH and said 'I was in the neighborhood and would you want to meet about music?' WHAT!?? First of all, you're never 'in the neighborhood' in NYC.

So, FH told him I was sleeping and he turned him away - is this totally weird that he stopped by unannounced when I had never met him, or what?!?!

Can you say stalker?!!

I know...I gave FH and my parents the guy's info in case anything weird happens....

Sounds like a wierdo. Us girls can never be too careful. I would steer clear of this one.

And I agree, good thing your FH was home

- that is unbelieveably creepy. i wouldn't care how good his music is - i would personally send him a curt and stern email telling him that his visit and daily emails are unwanted and he is making a nusiance of himself. and to leave you alone.

step after that - take all these emails and the one you sent him directly to the police station - this has restraining order all over it.....

good luck - i am actually scared for you - keep us updated....

that's good, but I think you should take it a step further and alert your doorman/security staff that this person is NEVER to be admitted to your building and if they notice him in the area, to call the police.

you don't want to wait for something weirdER to happen!

Wow, that's really unsettling!! I've heard of pushy vendors but he jumped WAY over the line!!! I'm so grateful that your FH was home and able to take care of the situation. That's so scary, I agree about notiying your doorman and the police too. Better to be safe than sorry!! Hope he got the message and leaves you alone now. This is serious stuff, I wouldn't book him just for the sheer creepiness!!

Oh wow.. That is creepy. This guy is insane! I would check his company out on the BBB.. who knows?? maybe he has done this to other people as well.
