I don't know for sure but I would think to wrap it in saran wrap or something like that then put it back in the box.

Re: freezing cake
lol me and DH (first time I used that one, it was fun) just had an argument about this. We wrapped it in saran wrap, lots and lots of layers of saran wrap and then wrapped it in foil and stuck it in the freezer. Not sure if it'll work but it sounded like a good idea at the time.

Re: freezing cake
i think no matter what you do...its not going to taste fresh or good on your one year. many couples who save it don't even end up eating it bc they don't want to risk getting sick.

Re: freezing cake
we wrapped it in saran wrap and put it in tupperware. We started out with the whole top layer, then we had a piece the day after the wedding, then another when we got back from the HM, then a few days later we had another piece! I'm interested to see how it will look and taste in May!

Actually I've heard of many couples that do eat it and say that it really doesn't bad at all. As long as it stayed in the freezer it should be fine.

Re: freezing cake
i think you freeze it for a bit so the icing gets hard then wrap in saran wrap then put it back in a container.
I have no idea how mine is wrapped though. My mom did it and put in in the basement freezer and I havent see it.
Aaron says he will NOT eat it in a year. Even if it tastes good...lol

what is the best way to freeze my cake?
We actually cut ours up into 12 pieces and we have been eating it each month. I wrapped it in foil and then put each piece in it own zip lock freezer bag. Each month the day before our anniversary day we take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge and the cake each month has been really good. Hope this helps

Ha - Mine said the same thing...Ours was (notice I said was...) left in the box, and then the box was saran wrapped over and over...we were going to keep it, but we are having new appliances delivered to our house today, so we knew we were going to have to defrost the freezer...we took that as a sign to eat it...and to be honest, it didn't taste nearly as good as the day of! So I can only imagine how it would be in a yr! We're just going to order another one then
