Like if you freeze a water bottle, or plastic ware? One of my professors said that and now I'm all concerned since I ALWAYS freeze my water bottles and my leftovers...

I've heard this but I'm very skeptical about it. There is a whole list of things people say lead to cancer and no one is really sure about what they're saying!

I don't know about freezing plastic, but FSIL, Fred, says microwaving in plastic causes cancer. He sent me a whole big article on it. Mary MOB

Its true....they do link everything to cancer.
But I heard it has something to do with the oils that are used to make plastic bottles, containers, etc. When you freeze them, then reuse them, it releases the oils or something?
Who knows. But now I'm all freaked out.

You cant let it scare you. Most of these studies arent proven and I think media tries to make us live in fear. I refuse to watch anything about these 'studies'. Im not gonna sit at home wondering if my couch is gonna cause cancer.

I actually did hear this. But it is true they do link everything to cancer. Don't worry. But I must say they have these really cool ice cube trays for water bottles. They look like tubes. FH saw them when we registered at BB&B so of course he had to get them and they have been sitting in my freezer unused for 3 months...lol Just an alternative if you are nervous.

i dont think so. i've heard this myth as well. I also heard that leaving water bottles in your hot car during the summer will cause cancer if you drink it.

Unfortunately, everything you do can lead to cancer---they even linked Long Beach water to cancer if you drink it It is nuts---I heard that you shouldn't constantly reuse a plastic water bottle (like poland spring) cause there is bacteria that begins to break down--but I have heard nothing about cancer
