French Manicure Help
I got my first-ever french manicure today and I think its weird!
The white is super white. They used an ok pink for the base and then painted the white line at the top. Then put clear over it. Is this how they are all done? Can I get a beigey base, the white line and then something on TOP, so the white isn't so glaring?

Re: French Manicure Help
When I get a french manicure - I ask for a white on white one - so your nail part is a pale white - not pinkie. I think the result looks more blended and softer.

I like one coat Madamoiselle, then the white stripe then another coat of Madamoiselle over it so it's blended.Or you could use a more beige-y color like called LIKE LINEN

Thats exactly what I have on my nails right now. My sister also uses this color and they do it exactly as you said, 1 coat, then white stripe, then second coat over it and then top coat

Re: French Manicure Help
I don't reallylike pink french manicures because it stands out too much and am not crazy about white on white either becuase it is too white. I usually try to go with a more sheer barely pink color underneth. And you should definitly put a coat of the base colorover the white tip...it won't make itso white.Good luck!

I ususaly use peach, right now I have a pink one and I don't like it. Also, the palces I'vegone have always put another layer of the COLOR over the white, so it kind of blends it better.

Re: French Manicure Help
I always get white on white...I think it looks classy, especially if you have a white dress.

Re: French Manicure Help
You need to put one coat of pink, then the white tip, then a second coat of pink, then the clear on top of that. Then the white won't be so super white

Great suggestions. I've actually done it both ways, and I prefer the Madamoiselle color. The one coat, then white stipe, then another coat, is the most natural looking.

I think I got the white on white, I like the pearly look of it.

Re: French Manicure Help
I have the Forever French since the wedding, and I change the color all the time. I sometimes use potato fields or rosy future, etc.

Re: French Manicure Help
I change the color from white, to ballet pink or mademoiselle, but despite the color I've always had the white line painted on before the other color so it blends.

Re: French Manicure Help
I use a color called 'Bubblebath'---it leaves the nail looking very natural, yet the white line isn't nearly as obvious after painting over it the second time.....here's how my girl does it....Base coat
One coat Bubblebath
French line
Second coat of french line (thinner, not too thick)
Second coat of Bubblebath
Top Coat
Mine look very natural and pretty--especially with the Gel overlay.
