I had some favor ideas in mind and then saw another bride on here was giving out pies and thought it would be a great favor. We are getting married in October so apples are great in the fall. Also would be personal to us because we LOVE to get apple desserts with ice cream on them...YUM! I would have it in a plain white pie box wrapped with red satin ribbon. We are doing an all red theme. I live close to Valley Caterers which makes an awesome apple pie at a reasonable price. So my question is if you were a guest what would you think if you got an apple pie as a favor?
Personally- I would love it. I love apple pie. (heated with vanilla ice cream- yum, yum, yum).

I think its a fantastic favor! I love edible favors (and trust me, it shows ) and apple pie in October would be perfect!

I am the bride giving out pie as a favor. I am getting them from Diane's in Roslyn. Its the best bakery on LI in my opinion. I am paying $7.20 per pie.

If you were going to do that you could play up the whole apple theme, have apple martinis as your signature drink. a bucket of apples as the centerpieces. maybe you could put some apple slices on the salad or work it into the menu too.

Hi! Thank you so much for the idea. Hope you don't mind I am thinking about using it. I called just called Diane's and the woman on the phone quoted me $8 for an apple pie. She is going to have Diane call me back and she said since I am buying a lot they can lower the price. Then I called Valley and they quoted me $6.49 a pie. So now I will have to go to Dianes and have a taste test! YUM! I will go with the better tasting one. Thanks again!

OMG I love it! I am having all red roses so this will work in perfectly. For the escort table I ordered a tall silver vase (John from Flower Michele calls it the silver bullet) and it will have 50 red roses kinda like topiary style in a rounded shape. If I get the deep red apples and line them up in front I think it would look pretty cool! Its very different and I am lovin' it!

I am glad that you called!!! Diane's has the best food and desserts ever!! It is not a typical cheesy bakery. It has all fresh ingredients. You will see what I mean when you go there. I am getting the pecan pie, strawberry rhubarb, and three berry pie. They have other great pies but they need to be refrigerated. I am actually having my shower in their restaurant.
