I'm getting married on a Friday, and my church says 4:30 (because of school) BUT I would like 4:00 because my ceremony is in Seaford and my reception is in Lake Ronkonkoma, and the hall allows one extra hour before the cocktail hour to take pics, so I figure if I can get out of the church by 5:30 (hour reception, 1/2hour for pics), then I will have the hour for pics at the reception place, and ill be able to attend my cocktail hour. But my dad says 4pm is too early and most people won't go. So I was wondering what time other Friday brides were starting!

Re: Friday brides
I'm doing pictures first, and my reception is a whopping 10 minutes from the church. So I'm planning on starting the ceremony at 5:30 and the CH at 7 (sun sets at 7:51 that day - and I want to be outside for the sunset ).

Re: Friday brides
My ceremony is at 4 and the reception (CH) is at 7. I think this should give us plenty of time for pics. (although our church and reception are only 15 minutes apart)

Re: Friday brides
My ceremony is at 4PM in Seaford & our CH starts at 7 in Floral Park...I think there is plenty of time for pictures! In regards to not too many people showing at the church. That is not really a big concern that I have. I know the people that are closest to our hearts will be there & that is all that matters

Re: Friday brides
What time does your reception start? Seaford to Lake Ronkonkoma is quite a drive and you may hit some traffic especially on a Friday afternoon in June....

My my CH starts at 7, i've done the drive on the LIE in traffic, and it takes about 45 min, w/o traffic it's about 30.... thats why I want to be done w/ the church by 5:30, pics and all.... Even if it takes a hour, witch I'm hoping it won't, I'll still have a 1/2 hour pre- CH for pics, so if i miss 1/2 of my ch, i'll be okay, on the other hand, I might want to make my grand entrance at the reception, so who knows!

Re: Friday brides
I am having my ceremony early. Mine starts at 3:00pm. My cocktail hr starts at 6:30pm.
I am having a full church ceremony then going to another location to take pics then heading over to my hall for more pics. I want to have enough time for pics without missing my cocktail hr. I know many may not come to my ceremony being it is early but the people that love me will be there.
As long as FH is there.

Re: Friday brides
My church is in Seaford too but the reception is close, Massapequa so it is not bad. We are starting at 5:00pm. Gives us an hour and CH will start at 7pm so we can get pictures in. At least this is the plan for now Good Luck!

Re: Friday brides
My ceremony is at 5:00 and its a full mass so our CH starts at 8:00PM but I'm thinking of moving it up a half hour.
I know that not everyone is going to go to the church because it is a Friday but I figure that the people who I care about the most will be there. Most of my friends said that they will just leave work early.

Date Twin!!! Woo-hoo!!! I know of one other bride on LIW who is also getting married June 2nd!! It took me months to fine one twin...now I have two!
My ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. at East Wind. The cocktail hour starts at 7 p.m. I am worried that not a lot of people will be able to make it for the ceremony since it's on a Friday and it's all the way out east (Wading River). My ceremony is a few hours after yours, and it's still a concern for me.
I guess I'll just have to stick with what everyone keeps telling me....The people who really want to be there will make sure they are there, no matter what.
